The EU budget will help deliver on the European Pillar of Social Rights by investing in people through quality jobs, social inclusion, education, skills, health, housing and social infrastructure. #ThePowerOfTogether
🇪🇺 Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness - European Commission
🇪🇺Today, the European Commission adopted its proposal for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034) — a €2 trillion budget for a new era. A budget that is larger, smarter and sharper. A budget that reflects Europe’s ambition, confronts its challenges, and strengthens our independence. Above all, it’s a budget that delivers for #people. We succeeded in keeping a strong social ambition through: 🔷a dedicated Regulation for the European Social Fund (ESF+); 🔷at least €100 billion in social investments through the National and Regional Partnership Plans; 🔷an additional 50 billion corresponding to the Social Climate Fund Allocation. 📍In the new #MFF, Erasmus+ gets stronger because learning mobility & capacity building are key for a more competitive, attractive and resilient Europe! It will support #UnionofSkills & European Education Area - to build life competences, basic and advanced skills Europe needs for the future. This is Europe investing in its people. 🔷A new integrated fund: #AgoraEU — doubling support to €8.6 billion for culture, media, democracy, and fundamental rights, by bringing together Creative Europe, MEDIA, and Citizens, Equality, Rights & Values (CERV). This #MFF supports the foundations of the #UnionofSkills, empowers citizens, and invests in the Europe we want to build together!

EU Employment and Skills reposted this
First #EPSCO under the starting Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2025! The informal meeting of employment and social affairs ministers in Aalborg focused on free and fair mobility and competitiveness. I had the pleasure of giving a speech during the plenary session chaired by Denmark’s Minister of Employment Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen. I emphasised that competitiveness and high social standards are two sides of the same coin and constitute the European identity. I described the European Commission’s work on the new ‘Fair Labour Mobility Package’ that we plan to present in 2026. The package will: ☑️ strengthen the work and mandate of the European Labour Authority ☑️ modernise, simplify and digitalise the social security coordination ☑️ facilitate the recognition of skills and qualifications across Europe as announced in the #UnionOfSkills ☑️ include initiatives to address challenges such as subcontracting chains in the cross-border context and posting of third-country nationals The meeting was complemented by an interesting visit to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. #eu2025dk #SocialRights
