Franchising seaweed? That’s the KOASTAL way. When Samuel Amant started his master’s thesis on seaweed farming, he probably didn’t picture a network of farms stretching across Sweden’s west coast. But three years later, KOASTAL is doing just that, with help from EU funding. The model? ✅ Support for fishers and growers ✅ Permits, equipment, seedlings ✅ A buy-back guarantee for the harvest ✅ A digital platform for training and logistics It’s not just a new business, it’s a new way to make seaweed part of the seafood value chain.
