🇪🇺💶 The European Commission’s proposal to double the transport infrastructure budget — from €25.6 billion to €51.7 billion — and to increase ten times the military mobility budget — from €1.7 billion to €17 billion — is far more than just some figures on paper. It is a bold political decision that confirms that the European Union is strategically investing in its cohesion, competitiveness and security. This is a major European achievement — and one we have worked hard to deliver. #ThePowerOfTogether EU Transport

What’s different about the most ambitious and dynamic EU budget yet? 👊 Double the transport funding for double the impact. As part of the Connecting Europe Facility, transport infrastructure funding will increase from EUR 25.8 billion to EUR 51.5 billion from 2028 – 2034. 🛤️ #CEFTransport will finance the completion of the trans-European transport network and advance our transition to cleaner, greener transport. It will also play a key role in supporting dual-use cross-border infrastructure projects, which are essential to our Military Mobility Action Plan. In fact, CEF Transport will support investments for military mobility that are ten times higher than the current budget. 🤩 And that’s not all, we'll soon share more about the other funding instruments #EUTransport will benefit from. How can #EUTransport and #EUTourism support Ukraine’s long-term resilience? 💙 💛   Deputy Director-General Maja Bakran attended the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome to explore how we can help drive Ukraine’s recovery.   The main takeaways 👇   💠 Enhancing transport links between the EU and Ukraine is a top priority. This goes beyond roads and railways: we are investing in corridors to create prosperity, peace, and progress.   💠 #SolidarityLanes are building infrastructure for Ukraine's future in Europe.   💠 Ukraine is now fully embedded into the #TEN_T and benefits from four European Transport Corridors, better connecting Ukraine with the EU.    💠 We will provide further support under #CEFTransport: €76 million to develop a European standard gauge connection from Poland to Lviv, thus leveraging a total of €152 million of investment for accelerated border checks and improved railway interoperability.    💠 In addition, several key road border crossing points are being upgraded to offer more capacity and better controls through new equipment, including rebuilding of facilities and access routes between Ukraine, Moldova and the EU.   💠 Culture and tourism are critical to Ukraine’s social and economic renewal. Recovery will take time, but culture and tourism can bring life back to its cities, confidence back to its people, and growth back to its economy.   We will continue to stand by Ukraine – every step of the way.   #StandWithUkraine

Connecting Europe is what the #TEN_T network is all about. 🖇️ The newly created Baltic Sea – Black Sea – Aegean Sea Corridor links eleven European Member States all along Europe’s eastern flank, from the far north to the far south, with key maritime hubs in the Baltic, Black and Aegean Sea. In addition, it connects two neighboring countries to our transport network: Ukraine and Moldova. By planning ahead and investing in future-ready infrastructure, the BBA Corridor is laying the groundwork for long-term connectivity, including boosting military mobility and reinforcing the #SolidarityLanes, which are keeping trade between Ukraine, Moldova and the EU going. 💙 💛 🏙️ The Corridor also aims to strengthen connections between 10 capital cities along ‘Europe’s eastern backbone’ and to improve capacity and reduce travel times across countries. 🛫 The EU Flight Emissions Label is ready for take-off! 📝 Air France-KLM is the first airline group to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency and begin preparations to join the Flight Emissions Label (FEL). This allows Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to test the FEL scheme and its flight emissions data reporting before officially applying for the label. 🏷️ What is the label all about? The FEL aims to set a reliable & harmonised methodology for estimating greenhouse gas emissions of flights. 💺 Passengers will be able to see the dedicated FEL logo alongside flight emissions data for participating airlines when booking flights online, making it easier to view & compare their flight emissions – which will in turn support informed decision-making and protect consumers from greenwashing claims.
