Innovation drives Europe’s competitiveness, resilience, and strategic autonomy. This is why it is one of our top priorities. Europe is investing in the ideas, talent, and technologies that will shape the future: from Artificial Intelligence to semiconductors, Cleantech to health, and security and defence to critical raw materials. That’s the goal of TechEU: the EU’s most ambitious financing initiative for innovation to date. With €70 billion in EIB Group financing, TechEU aims to mobilise up to €250 billion by 2027 to help Europe’s startups, scale-ups, and innovation champions grow, and stay, in Europe. TechEU supports the full innovation cycle, offering fast and flexible access to finance through equity, quasi-equity, loans and guarantees. It complements the European Commission’s Startup and Scale-up Strategy and provides a one-stop shop for innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers. Ready to scale your idea? Happy #LuxembourgPride! Pride matters because people are still silenced, excluded or unsafe just for being who they are. Pride is protest. Pride is progress. Pride is courage. Until everyone can live and love openly, it will remain a powerful act of resistance. #EU4Equality

Strong, unwavering support for Ukraine and its people at the Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome. Our delegation, led by president Nadia Calviño and Vice-President Teresa Czerwińska, confirmed the EIB Group’s determination to stand side by side with Ukrainians, supporting the recovery and reconstruction of their country. That’s why during the Conference, alongside our European Commission partners, we have signed nearly €600 million in new financing for: 🔵critical energy and transport infrastructure, to restore hydropower plants, upgrade municipal district heating systems, repair roads and bridges, and improve border crossings 🟡local small and medium-sized businesses, through dedicated loans and EU-backed guarantees provided to Ukrainian banks. We are also supporting: 🔵exports from EU companies to Ukraine, with ten Member States joining the InvestEU Ukraine Export Credit Pilot 🟡project preparation through the new Ukraine FIRST programme, developed in partnership with the EBRD and the European Commission. These agreements reflect our commitment to building hope and opportunity in the country: helping communities rebuild, keeping homes warm, and nurturing local business. 🆕Our new #CESEE Bank Lending Survey is out! It shows that: ✅Credit demand remains robust in #CESEE, driven both by corporate and retail sectors. ✅Banks expect a slight improvement in credit supply conditions in the coming months. ✅2/3 of cross-border banking groups aim to reinforce their operations in the region. Key insights from the survey also indicate a notable strength of credit demand in the next months, especially among #SMEs. This demand is driven by businesses seeking financing for investments and operational costs, as well as individuals looking to invest in housing. EIB VP Kyriacos Kakouris commented: “This survey underscores the high market potential in Czechia, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Romania, with profitability being higher in the region when compared to banks overall group operations. CESEE banking sector is proving resilient, and the EIB will continue support the growth of the area”. EIB Chief Economist Debora Revoltella added: “Improvements in the CESEE Banking sector outlook over the past six months are a sign of the system’ strength. However, the global environment suggests forthcoming structural adjustments in the real economy and re-direction of trade and investment flows. Banks will be challenged to provide the necessary flexibility for the economy to adjust”. Read the complete survey here 👉 bit.ly/CESEE25
