The Council of Europe (CoE) Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) is aimed at supporting the CoE member states in implementing European human rights, justice and rule of law standards at the national level, focusing on the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), other key CoE instruments, as well as EU law. This is done by raising the capacities of legal professionals to apply those instruments in their daily work. The objective of HELP is to provide high quality education on human rights to judges, prosecutors, lawyers and other justice professionals throughout Europe and beyond. The HELP Catalogue contains numerous online courses on various human rights, justice and rule of law related topics. They are free, certified, interactive, available in multiple languages and can be taken in self-paced or tutored format. When contextualised to the national legislation and challenges, HELP courses address the training needs identified by various Council of Europe monitoring mechanisms and support the implementation of ECtHR judgments pending execution. 🎉 Day 2 of the HELP Network Conference 2025 wrapped up with energy and new insights! The day began with dynamic workshops on: 💡 #SoftSkills in legal training 💻 #Digitalisation of learning 🧑💻 Sustainable and impactful #training Participants exchanged success stories and best practices from national training institutions and shared ideas in breakout groups. The afternoon spotlighted HELP’s synergies with key Council of Europe entities, including: 🔹 Department of the execution of judgments and HELP, with highlights shared by Frédéric Dolt 🔹 ECtHR’s Knowledge Sharing Platform presented by Renis Zaganjori 🔹 European Social Charter and HELP, introduced by Amaya Ubeda We also discussed academic partnerships under HELP in Universities, with inspiring examples from University of Jyväskylä by Elena Plotnikova and the OCEAN Programme presented by Olaf Köndgen. 🗳️ The day concluded with the election of new members of the HELP Consultative Board – a warm welcome to all new members! 📢The HELP Programme, in collaboration with the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution from Poland (Krajowa Szkoła Sądownictwa i Prokuratury), has recently launched the HELP course on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights. The launch seminar was organised in Krakow (Poland) and was attended, in person and online, by 50 judges and prosecutors from EU member states. Among others, the course focuses on: 📄 International and European frameworks and AI 🤝 AI and Privacy, Non-discrimination, Freedom of expression and Justice 🏛️ AI, what’s next? 📜 For the event, we were joined by insightful speakers: 🖋️ Anna Adamska - Gallant, PhD, Judge at the European Court of Human Rights 🖋️ Raluca P. Peica, Director-General at Court of Justice of the European Union 🌍 🥽 The launch seminar included a session with the VR team of the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution from Poland on Virtual Reality and the Law: Immersive Learning for Judges and Prosecutors 📝 We are also particularly grateful to our HELP tutors, who will be guiding the participants through the online course in the following months: 🏅 Patrycja Dolniak , Judge, Ph.
