Today, we’re excited to celebrate the 125th anniversary of our Dübendorf site in Switzerland! This milestone is particularly special as it also marks 130 years of Givaudan’s presence in Zurich, where our founders, Leon and Xavier Givaudan, first set up their operations in downtown Zurich before relocating to Geneva, paving the way for our incredible journey. Dübendorf joined the Givaudan family in 1948 with the acquisition of a company called Esrolko, helping us expand into flavours. Today, it’s our most important European site for spray dry products and for the number of production batches, handling over 200 specialty natural ingredients. Over the years, we’ve continued to invest in Dübendorf - focusing on our people, our culture, and our technology. These investments drive innovation and excellence in everything we do. Last month, the Givaudan Perfumery School hosted a 2-week ‘2025 Evaluation Training Programme’, gathering 25 Givaudan Junior Evaluators from 15 countries! Devised by teams across Consumer Products, Fine Fragrance Management and the School itself, the intensive programme was designed to enhance participants’ formal evaluation skills whilst facilitating connections within the team.  From perfumer-led workshops to smelling sessions at the European and Fine Fragrance Creative Centres, the agenda featured a series of engaging, expert-led activities on topics such as technology, olfactory families, the history of scent and further insights into evaluation. As Givaudan’s Category Director, Home Care, Anne Sophie Poulard reflects, “It was fantastic to witness the development of the next generation of fragrance evaluators! Givaudan China proudly contributes to the Xuelei Fragrance Museum, a new landmark for fragrance culture in China, which officially opened on 9 July 2025, in Guangzhou. Spanning over 7,000 square metres, the Xuelei Fragrance Museum showcases the evolution of fragrance history in both the East and West, while also providing an opportunity to experience the scents of raw materials and synesthetic themes. Visitors can explore five immersive exhibition areas, over 300 scent stations, and interactive technologies such as AI-driven personalised fragrance creation. Givaudan recently celebrated 20 years of its New Molecule Research Center in Shanghai. The anniversary event marks a key moment of recognition for the Givaudan Shanghai molecule research team, led by Givaudan Head of Chemical Research Shanghai, Dr. Adeline Zhou. A direct result of the group's determination and diligence, the achievements over the past 20 years were showcased as part of the occasion. Elsewhere, a special anniversary video was premiered, and fascinating talks ensued from two guest speakers: Givaudan Head of Ingredients Research, Science & Technology, Dr. Agnes Bombrun and Givaudan Head of Discovery, Science & Technology, Dr. Nicolas Armanino.
