Our company has successfully completed the first field trials with Petrobras for our thermoplastic composite pipe (#TCP) design offshore #Brazil, at water depths of approximately 1,500 metres. The trials were conducted in partnership with Petrobras, ensuring the product meets both industry standards and the unique conditions of the Brazilian market. Strohm’s TCP was tested using the same methodologies and standards as conventional flexible pipes. Renato Bastos, VP Brazil at Strohm, said: “This successful phase marks the culmination of a remarkable collaboration between Petrobras and Strohm throughout the last few months. The technology has the potential to transform the global #deepwater market and unlocks a huge potential for us in Brazil." Strohm is the world’s first and leading manufacturer of Thermoplastic Composite Pipe.
Over ons
Leading composite pipe technology company Strohm has the world’s largest track-record for Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) after being the first to bring the technology to the conventional energy industry in 2007. TCP reduces total installed and life cycle cost for subsea flowlines, jumpers and risers and has proven to reduce the CO2 footprint of pipeline infrastructures by more than 50%. The company is committed to driving sustainability with its range of TCP solutions which enable clients towards their net-zero carbon emissions targets and supports the renewables sector. TCP is a strong, non-corrosive, spoolable, lightweight technology which is delivered in long lengths, resulting in a significant reduction of transportation and installation costs. TCP is installed using small vessels or subsea pallets, significantly reducing CO2 emissions. It is also 100% recyclable.

A beautiful sunset over Louisiana and another TCP Jumper successfully terminated and tested in the field, with 0 quality notifications, 0 delays and most importantly 0 safety incidents. One of the hidden perks of the onsite termination work is the people from diverse cultures and backgrounds we get to work alongside, and for this campaign the bar was set high. The professionalism, support, kindness and hospitality of the Gulf Island yard personnel is second to none, “Southern Hospitality” is alive and well in Houma. We are all looking forward to our return next year for the next two jumpers to be fabricated onsite. with Natan Kramer paul uittenbosch

*Team Spotlight* Swathini Sivakumar - Project Engineer Swathini’s path into engineering wasn’t one she mapped out in advance, but rather one she discovered through curiosity and a drive to understand how things work, from planning to installation. In her current role as a technical project engineer, she plays a central role in coordinating across all phases of project execution. “One of the things I value most in my current role is the ongoing collaboration across departments,” she says. “My job isn’t limited to desk work; I’m working closely with production teams, composites engineers, and suppliers, making sure we’re aligned at every step.” Read more about Swathini's experience at Strohm: https://lnkd.in/eSWXkdrz #INWED #WomenInEngineering #INWED25 #Sustainability #CareerGrowth #EngineeringExcellence

In a significant milestone for European energy security, first gas is flowing through our company's Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (#TCP) system at the Wilhelmshaven 2 terminal in #Germany, following the successful commissioning of a second Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU), Excelsior. This marks the first time gas is being delivered to Europe through this newly installed subsea pipeline infrastructure. Strohm has provided more than 11km of TCP to ECOnnect Energy for the TES Wilhelmshaven Green Gas Terminal in Germany. The corrosion-resistant, lightweight #pipeline technology is supporting the terminal’s subsea infrastructure in a high-current, environmentally sensitive zone. In the initial phase, the terminal will be used to import liquefied natural gas, using Strohm’s TCP, with the pipe being repurposed for liquid #CO2 transport at a later stage. We welcome the publication of NEN 3650-6, a new Dutch standard defining requirements for spoolable thermoplastic composite pipes (#TCP) in onshore applications. The introduction of NEN 3650-6 provides a formal framework for the #design, #installation, and #maintenance of TCPs in the Netherlands, ensuring they meet safety and performance criteria comparable to traditional materials and unlocking opportunities for TCP to be deployed in #onshore applications. The new standard will streamline compliance, simplifying the regulatory landscape for manufacturers and operators; encourage the adoption of advanced materials like TCP in the #Netherlands; and enhance safety and reliability across the industry. I know it’s a bit of a cliché to say you’re proud and humbled, but this time I truly am. We recently hit a major milestone: our IQuay F-Class system for the Wilhelmshaven FSRU Terminal II successfully passed Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), witnessed by TÜV and representatives from the German authorities. This is a huge achievement for ECOnnect Energy and a proud moment for the entire team. We’ve gone from sketches to a fully operational system that will supply around 8.5% of Germany’s gas demand in record time — for a country of over 80 million people, that’s significant. I'm incredibly proud of the team and our partners, and genuinely grateful for the opportunity we have at ECOnnect to redefine marine energy infrastructure on a large scale. Incredibly proud to share this news. Strohm supplied the #TCP pipelines to this project, now delivering strategically important natural gas to Europe. Congratulations to ECOnnect Energy, TES and DET Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH for realising this project in such short time frame. We deliver on our promises! #TCP: No Corrosion - Lower Cost - Less CO2
First gas has been achieved in Wilhelmshaven! 🇩🇪 The IQuay F-Class system is now in active operation – enabling jettyless transfer of LNG at one of Europe’s most strategic energy hubs. This marks a historic milestone: the first gas is now flowing through our IQuay system in Wilhelmshaven II. Developed in close collaboration with TES, ENGIE, and DET Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH, the terminal is a landmark achievement for Europe’s energy infrastructure, combining cutting-edge innovation with environmental stewardship. 🌊 Installed 1.5 kilometers offshore in the ecologically sensitive Jade Bay ⚡ Connected via seabed-laid pipelines and power/data lines to shore 🦪 Featuring Europe’s first use of ultrasound to prevent fouling in an FSRU seawater system The IQuay F-Class is more than a technical solution. It’s proof that scalable, modular, and environmentally conscious infrastructure is not just possible – it’s operational. We’re proud to contribute to this future-forward model for energy transfer. Jettyless is here. First gas is flowing. 👉 Read the full announcement from TES: https://lnkd.in/edBxvumv

It’s a special feeling – seeing something go from a sketch on paper to steel in the water, ready for first LNG. Even more so when that technology will supply about 8.5% of Germany’s gas demand. In April 2022, we started sketching out ideas for a jettyless LNG solution in Wilhelmshaven. We were in early conversations with our client TES and regulators, mapping IQuay alternatives, trying to solve a challenge that didn’t yet have a clear answer. Now, the FSRU has arrived, and final commissioning and testing of the IQuay F-Class is well underway. Getting here has taken a huge team effort – across engineering, permitting, logistics, offshore operations & installation, and more. I’m proud of what our people have accomplished, and grateful to the clients, partners and stakeholders who’ve worked with us as "one team" to make it happen; TES, DET Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH, ENGIE, BMWK, GEOCEAN, Strohm, Gasfin Development, DNV, Excelerate Energy and more. At ECOnnect Energy, we’re working to redefine marine energy infrastructure. This project is proof that it’s not just a slogan – it’s happening. And we’re only getting started. #lng #cleanerenergy #fasttrack
