The Franco-British Summit, held this week in London, was an opportunity to reveal exciting news 📢 The development of the complex weapons domain through MBDA is confirmed as a central pillar of the bilateral cooperation and is at the heart of a new “Entente industrielle” between both countries. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed their endeavour to an ambitious roadmap in key capability areas for Europe and NATO. Regarding #DeepStrike capabilities, a new order for SCALP / #STORMSHADOW missiles is expected by the end of the year, as well as a strong commitment to launch the development phase for its future replacement #FCASW. In the air dominance domain, the announcement of the joint development of a next generation “beyond visual range” air-to-air missile, while extending #METEOR capabilities, demonstrates the will of both nations to continue to innovate together in the field of air combat. This event also gathered UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey and French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu at our Stevenage site, demonstrating our role as a key partner alongside our European armed forces, and more globally, in service of European #sovereignty.

MBDA reached a new industrial milestone with the production of the 2,000th #MISTRAL 3, the latest generation of very short-range #airdefence systems. On this occasion, the 2,000th MISTRAL 3 was presented to the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement on June 25 at our Selles-Saint-Denis production site. This achievement is the result of long-lasting trust and #cooperation with the French armed forces, and serves as proof of the MISTRAL 3’s reliability, versatility and its ability to evolve to counter emerging threats such as drones. The MISTRAL 3 is in service in numerous countries around the world, and has notably been selected by 9 European nations under the #EDIRPA initiative — strengthening Europe’s collective air defence posture. To meet this growth in demand, production rates have ramped up since 2022 — with output set to be multiplied by 4 by 2025.

On June 23rd, two test firings of the MBDA #MICA IR missile took place, coordinated by the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement and the Armée de l’air et de l’espace from the Cazaux Air Base.   The missiles, launched from a #Rafale and a #Mirage 2000, successfully neutralised two high-altitude balloons (over 20 kilometers), confirming the MICA IR's ability to counter new aerial threats.   MBDA teams demonstrate agility every day to closely meet the needs of the armed forces. These tests, supported by CNES and Dassault Aviation, showcase our air defense expertise in service of #nationalsovereignty.

MBDA collaborates with the ECE. Ecole d'ingénieurs. Engineering School. to develop a generative #AI #Innovation happens everywhere, and at MBDA we are proud to collaborate with the young talents of today who will be the experts of tomorrow. This partnership enables us to train the younger generation in the key subject of AI and will also provide a better workspace for our employees in the long term.

The first test firing of the MICA NG missile from a #Rafale, was successfully carried out on June 19 by MBDA and the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement, in collaboration with Dassault Aviation, at the DGA Essais de Missiles Méditerranée site. This firing marks a significant milestone in the development of this new-generation air #defence missile and is the result of a collaborative commitment. It is solid evidence of our ability to answer the ever-evolving needs of the armed forces for modern air combat through decisive capabilities.

MBDA and TERMA have signed an agreement during the International Paris Air Show with the perspective to setup sustainable cooperation programs on a large spectrum of interests. This agreement, signed by Florent Duleux, Group Export Sales Director at MBDA, and Thomas Flarup, Executive Vice President at Terma Group, in presence of Christophe Leduc, Industrial Cooperation - Head of Europe & Canada at MBDA and Jes Ballin, Offset and Industrial Participation Directorate at Terma Group, reflects a shared commitment to strengthening European defence capabilities. To fulfil the Danish Forces strong operational needs, MISTRAL and VL MICA have already been selected while ASTER is under discussion.

🎯 NEODE Systems gets its first contract with the French DGA - Direction générale de l'armement on behalf of the French Army. Less than 18 months after its creation, MBDA’s start-up NEODE Systems is entering a new phase with the signature of its first contract. The objective is to demonstrate the increased Beyond Line Of Sight (BLOS) capabilities of the #AKERONMP missile using the AI-powered Ground Warden solution — with live trials planned by year-end.
