At the Ukrainian Recovery Conference, Leonardo, ENAV and the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (#UkSATSE) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to launch a collaborative effort aimed at restoring and enhancing Ukraine’s civil air navigation infrastructure under the framework of the Ukraine Air Traffic Management (#ATM) Restoration and Recovery Plan (#UARRP).   The agreement marks a significant step towards the re-establishment of Ukraine’s ATM capabilities, which have been severely affected by the ongoing conflict. Through this partnership, #Leonardo will act as a supporter and provider of technological and infrastructure components of the recovery plan. At the same time, Enav, Italy’s national Air Navigation Service Provider, will contribute with its operational knowledge and consultancy services. On its end, UkSATSE, Ukraine’s Air Navigation Service Provider, will lead the implementation as the end user and beneficiary of the restored systems.   The three parties are committed to jointly coordinate the planning and execution of key projects under the UARRP and to work closely with institutional partners to identify sustainable financing solutions. In the framework of the cooperation, two Donation Agreements have been signed between Leonardo, Enav and UkSATSE, covering the transfer of five en-route primary radar systems and associated equipment. These systems are expected to play a meaningful role in restoring Ukraine’s basic surveillance capacity and enabling a phased reopening of its airspace for civil operations.   This initial delivery represents the first tangible milestone in the broader implementation of the UARRP and reflects Leonardo’s concrete support for Ukraine’s recovery needs. https://lnkd.in/dKKUhB8t   #LDO_PR #URC2025

Leonardo has taken another step in strengthening its position in the field of #cybersecurity, enriching its portfolio of innovative proprietary products by taking over the Swedish company Axiomatics AB. The operation adds a key component in completing the company’s offering in the field of Zero Trust: a model of cybersecurity in which trust is never implicit, and every single system, network and data access must be constantly verified and protected. This approach, adopted by #Leonardo’s Global Cybersecurity Platform (#GCC Platform), permits a complete view of the entire digital environment (referred to as cyber observability), proactively anticipating increasingly evolved and pervasive threats.   The acquisition completes the third industrial partnership and M&A operation in cybersecurity carried out by Leonardo in only a few months, in line with the Industrial Plan aimed at strengthening Leonardo’s international role.   https://lnkd.in/d2tSGcxB   #LDO_PR

The UK's combat air industry took a major leap forward yesterday as Defence Minister Maria Eagle opened the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) flagship headquarters in Reading. This crucial milestone supports the delivery of a supersonic stealth fighter jet equipped with cutting-edge technologies. The GCAP programme supports over 3,500 jobs and 1,000 apprenticeships in the UK. The new multinational headquarters brings us together with Japan and Italy in this innovative collaborative project. Edgewing, a new joint venture formed by BAE Systems, Leonardo, and Japan Aircraft Industrial Enhancement Co. Ltd, will lead on design and development. Secretary of State for Defence John Healey also held a virtual meeting in parallel with his Italian and Japanese counterparts, Guido Crosetto and Gen Nakatani, to discuss progress of the GCAP programme. It was an honour to welcome H.E. Bernardo Futscher Pereira, Ambassador of Portugal in Rome, Captains Sérgio da Silva Pinto and Giuseppe Radicchio, Defence Attachés of Portugal and Italy, Captain Jorge Correia, National Armaments Director Representative, and a delegation of aicep Portugal Global, idD Portugal Defence, AED Cluster Portugal and more than 20 companies to our Leonardo Electronics site in Rome, Italy, who were greeted by Davide Fazio, Marketing & Sales Director of #LeonardoElectronics, and representatives from our divisions. The visit took place as part of the 1st Luso-Italian Defence Industry Day, from 2–3 July, with the aim of deepening bilateral relations between Portugal and Italy in the defence industry sector. The initiative promoted the exchange of information on the main procurement programmes of the Armed Forces of both countries, the integration of SMEs into the value chains of major companies, and the creation of partnerships and consortia in preparation for applications to the European Defence Fund. #Leonardo boasts a long and successful relationship with the Portuguese Armed Forces, particularly in the #helicopter sector, having supplied helicopters to the Air Force and to the Navy, and in the #electronics sector, having supplied sensors and gun systems. In Portugal, Leonardo has strengthened its presence in engineering, industrial, and helicopter maintenance activities.
