Beyond Energy

Sobre nosotros

Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind, leading a new era of clean energy by turning ocean winds into power that lights up homes, businesses, and communities. A pure offshore wind player, created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE, OW develops, finances, builds, and operates offshore wind farms worldwide. From start to finish, we make it happen—constructing wind farms at sea and keeping them running to deliver reliable, green energy every day. What sets us apart is the expertise of our people, the experience gained through our projects, and the shared vision of our sponsors. Headquartered in Madrid and present in 8 countries, OW now has close to 19 GW of gross offshore wind capacity either operating, contracted, or with development exclusivity rights secured. OW is shaping the future by working closely with governments, partners, communities, and industries to make offshore wind a basis of an attainable tomorrow. We’re here for the long haul—creating a legacy that not only powers today but also shapes a sustainable future. Beyond Energy. Ocean Winds.

  • #ExcitingNews | The offshore substation (OSS) for our 500 MW Dieppe-Le Tréport project is officially installed at sea! ⚙️🇫🇷 While this marks the first visible element of offshore construction for the project, it follows months of intense preparation and offshore activity. From fabrication to marine operations, every step has required the coordination, expertise, and dedication of our teams, partners, and suppliers. 🤝🔧🚢 This latest achievement adds to the strong momentum OW has been building in France — where we are currently under simultaneous construction of three offshore wind farms. From first power at our 500 MW Yeu-Noirmoutier project earlier in the month, to the ongoing turbine assembly at our 30 MW EFGL pilot, and now this successful offshore installation for our Dieppe-Le Tréport project, progress continues across the country. It also reflects the trust placed in us by the French State to contribute to the country’s energy transition — supported by a robust French and European industrial supply chain. 🔋 Check out our project pages 👉 OW Ocean Winds FRANCE, Les Éoliennes en Mer Services, and LES EOLIENNES FLOTTANTES DU GOLFE DU LION 📸 Take a closer look at the final steps of the jacket and substation installation below! • #Awards | Celebrating 20 years of global wind energy progress with Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC)! 🎉🌍 OW Ocean Winds was proud to be recognised as a Segment Champion at GWEC’s 20th Anniversary Dinner & Awards Ceremony in Lisbon — a special gathering to honour the people and partnerships that have helped shape the wind industry over the past two decades. 👏 Our Chief Business Development Officer, Rafael Munilla Muñoz, accepted the award on behalf of OW, remarked: “Offshore wind is key to the global energy transition — delivering clean power, industrial growth, and climate impact at scale. At OW, we’re proud to drive this momentum and to collaborate with associations like GWEC to turn potential into real progress." This day was all about celebrating #OffshoreWind and the collective progress we’ve made as a global community. Held in Portugal’s capital, at the #MAAT - Museum of Art + Architecture and Technology, the event was particularly meaningful for OW: not far from Lisbon, in Viana do Castelo, we developed #WindFloatAtlantic, our 25 MW first floating offshore wind pilot project and one of the first of its kind in the world. 🌊🇵🇹 Did you know...? Guests at the dinner also had the chance to experience the project up close through our virtual reality experience — offering a 360° view from the top of a floating turbine at sea. 🕶️⚡ Thank you to GWEC, the organisers, and everyone driving this mission forward — and congratulations to the entire wind industry on 20 years of meaningful impact. Here’s to the next 20! ⚡🌱 #ProudtobeOW #BeyondTomorrow

  • #ConstructionUpdate | 🚢⚙️ The floater has arrived for our 30 MW EFGL project in Port-La Nouvelle, France! 📍 Yesterday, the third and final floater for our LES EOLIENNES FLOTTANTES DU GOLFE DU LION project arrived at the Port of Port-La Nouvelle — marking another step forward in the assembly phase, in preparation for the offshore installation later this summer. Earlier in the week, the first fully assembled wind turbine was moved by tugboats to its storage area, where it now joins the second floater. With the third floater now positioned at the assembly quay, preparations for the second turbine assembly are underway. These complex operations underscore the strength of local infrastructure, maritime coordination, and regional expertise — and reflect our commitment to delivering projects that go #BeyondEnergy by supporting local supply chain and long-term capabilities. Developed in partnership with Banque des Territoires, EFGL is more than a pilot: it’s a launch pad for the future of floating wind in the region, including our 250 MW #EFLO project already in early development. 🔋 🌬️ 👏 A big thank you to our dedicated OW Ocean Winds teams, and to all our valued partners who made this achievement possible: Eiffage Métal, Principle Power, Smulders, SOCIETE NOUVELLOISE DE REMORQUAGE, TSM - Thomas Services Maritimes, COMPAGNIE MARITIME CHAMBON, Euroports and their subcontractors. 🚢 Watch it all unfold: check out the floater’s arrival in time-lapse below! 👇 #ProudtobeOW #pOWerToday

  • #LocalCommunity | Another successful Open Day at #WindFloatAtlantic! 🎉 As our Wind Float Atlantic project recently celebrated five years in operation, maintaining an open and dynamic relationship with the local community remains essential. 🤝 Last week, we had the chance to connect with the Viana do Castelo community during APDL’s Open Day — our third consecutive year participating, and this time as proud sponsors! 🏅 We welcomed local residents to our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) base, offering guided tours led by our team, featuring a 3D model and an immersive VR experience of our pioneering floating wind project. But that’s not all! In the afternoon, our team laced up for a race around the port facilities 🏃♀️🏃 a great way to see the area from a new angle. A big thank you to everyone involved for their amazing energy and enthusiasm! 🙌 Another fantastic opportunity to show how, at OW, we go #BeyondEnergy: creating a legacy that goes beyond today and helps shape tomorrow. 🌍 #ProudtobeOW

  • #INWED25 | Why did you want to become an engineer? ⚙️💭 This International Women in Engineering Day, at OW Ocean Winds, we wanted to take a moment to be inspired by some of the talented female engineers who are already shaping our projects — from development, to design, to offshore operations. 🌊👷♀️📐 We asked them very simple, yet powerful questions: Why did their teenage-selves choose to become engineers? And why did they choose to help us build a legacy that not only powers today but also shapes a better tomorrow? ⚡🌍 Their answers—expressed in words like responsibility and pride—capture the commitment, ambition and values that drive us forward. 🚀💡 Because at OW, we aim to go #BeyondEnergy and build a more inclusive and sustainable industry. By hiring women, we are not only strengthening our teams today — we are actively shaping the future of engineering through diversity. 💪🌱 Together our impact is greater, #TogetherWeEngineer. #ProudtobeOW #WomenInEngineering #WindPowerWomen
