Halfway there: Construction at our Thor offshore wind farm continues to make solid progress, with 36 of 72 monopiles now installed! 🚧 Each monopile is up to 100 metres long and weighs as much as 1,500 metric tonnes — roughly equivalent to 1,000 small cars. Sustainability is built into the project: we’re working with reused monopile hard covers, CO2-reduced steel towers, and recyclable turbine blades. Video Credit: Jan De Nul

What’s it really like to move countries for work? Agnieszka, a Senior Back Office Analyst at RWE, made the leap from Swindon 🇬🇧 to Chicago 🇺🇸 for a secondment with RWE. What started as a career development suggestion became a journey full of new challenges, friendships, and personal growth. Now working with a new team and learning new ways of working, she’s gaining valuable experience both inside and outside of work. Bringing her dog along made the transition a little easier, providing a sense of familiarity and comfort as she adjusted to a new country, routine, and culture. 🌊 The Grimsby Hub is officially open RWE has opened a new state-of-the-art offshore wind Operations and Maintenance facility, strengthening our long-term commitment to the Humber region. In addition to housing the Maintenance teams for Triton Knoll, the new facility will also serve as the base for the Operations team supporting RWE’s Sofia offshore wind farm. With space for up to 140 staff and built to high sustainability standards, the new base is a major investment in local jobs, skills and infrastructure – helping secure the UK’s transition to net zero. 🔗 Link to the full-story in the comments below 👇

One of the best parts of being a Site Manager? Catching sunrises in stunning locations at the very top of the turbines. Robin has been an RWE Site Manager for almost five years, keeping our wind turbines running safely and efficiently. He says the role calls for a qualified electrician who’s confident with heights and great with people. No two days are the same, but one thing is constant: safety always comes first! Today, the supervisory board of RWE extended my contract until 2031. I’m deeply honoured to be able to continue leading this great company, and to keep working with the fantastic #TeamRWE. The last years have been quite a journey. We were able to transform our business — which was heavily dependent on German coal and nuclear — into an international leader in low-carbon generation. In our core markets today — the UK, the US, and the EU, with our home market Germany at the centre — we now hold leading positions. And we are continuing the journey with additional investments in renewables, storage, low-carbon gas generation, and hydrogen, coupled with our superb commercial platform. This entire transformation was made possible by our Team RWE, who drive the business with passion for our mission, trust in each other, and dedicated performance. And we steer the transformation with the deepest respect for the business which laid the foundation of the company — our colleagues in coal and nuclear. They are now focused on phase-out and creating new uses for these great sites. For me, it’s very rewarding to see our former nuclear and coal sites transforming into powerhouses for the energy system of the future — with batteries, electrolysers, gas generation, and data centres soon to come. Thank you to the entire Team RWE for the past years. I am very much looking forward to continuing this journey with you. I cannot think of a better job than to lead this incredible team.

We’re pleased to share an important leadership update: The supervisory board has extended Markus Krebber‘s contract as CEO of RWE AG early, until 2031. Under his leadership, RWE has fundamentally transformed — from a company shaped by conventional energy to a leading force of the energy transition. Frank Appel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of RWE AG, states: “With Markus Krebber as CEO, the company has an outstanding leader at its helm. He has resolutely positioned RWE for the future energy landscape. Thanks to its broad technological and regional scope, the Group is now ideally placed to capitalise on the growth resulting from rising electricity demand and electrification.”

The winners have been crowned, the horses have cooled down and the removement work has progressed — but our partnership remains. The CHIO Aachen and RWE have simply belonged together for decades. This year, we were once again a proud sponsor of the world's biggest equestrian event. The CHIO has a special relevance in the region. And the region has a special relevance for RWE. We actively support the structural change in the Rhenish lignite area and remain closely linked to the region. Events like the CHIO offer exceptional opportunities for dialogue about energy, responsibility and how we shape the future. Congratulations to all the winners and participants. Many thanks to all the helpers who made the event what it was. We are already looking forward to next year.

The rotor blades are on their way – our wind farm in Kail is taking shape on the Moselle plateau. 💨 Once operational, it will supply clean electricity to the equivalent of around 7,500 German households. To achieve this, we're installing two Nordex N149 turbines on 164-metre hybrid towers and 1 Nordex N131 on 134-metre steel tower. And did you know? The site roads may look like asphalt, but they’re actually made of gravel.
