Meteopress’s mission is to protect the people around the world against the effects dangerous weather with AI and radars.

O nás

Meteopress's mission is to protect the people around the world against the effects of climate change and dangerous weather. A disruptor in the radar industry, C-band, S-band, and X-band Dual-polarization Doppler weather radars are the most important division of the company with more than 35 radars deployed in the last 7 years. Meteopress's radars have the lowest carbon footprint on the market. With a lightweight construction design and very low power consumption, they can be powered by solar. That all brings the costs of radar deployment to the minimum. Thanks to agile development, we can offer virtually unlimited capacity and very short delivery times. A strong in-house AI team is bringing previously impossible products, with super-precise precipitation nowcasting, satellite nowcasting, ENS NWP AI forecasting. Meteopress AI-REN SW can solve other issues as well, fill the gaps in radar composites, fill the blockages by physical obstacles in radar coverage, and solve the wind turbine disturbances. Trusted by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, ZAMG, Austrian weather service, the Czech government, and dozens of other clients from diverse fields of insurance, media, government meteorology, and energetics. Meteopress is based in the Czech Republic and has a 30 years history of reliable operations.

In June, we had the opportunity to visit the Eco Expo 2025 in Tashkent, where Meteopress signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Uzhydromet. As part of our cooperation, two X-band weather radars are now being delivered to Uzhydromet and will be installed later this year. We’re proud to contribute to the modernization of Uzbekistan’s weather monitoring capabilities — a country that’s rapidly developing and investing in resilient infrastructure. We also look forward to possible future projects — whether through new radar deliveries or upgrades to existing Uzhydromet systems.

Last week, during Airspace World in Lisbon, we had the pleasure of meeting with Ambassador Martin Pohl and Deputy Ambassador Katerina Bocianova at the Czech Embassy. We discussed Meteopress' global activities and opportunities for cooperation, including how the embassy can support our efforts in Portugal and other relevant regions. Thank you for the warm welcome at the embassy—and special thanks to Katerina for also visiting us and other Czech companies like Era a.s. and ELDIS Pardubice, s.r.o. at Airspace World. We’re proud to represent Czech technology and innovation abroad—and to show how Meteopress contributes to it on a global scale.

This Tuesday, we hosted a special Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for Meteo France International and their customer SODEXAM Côte d'Ivoire. After a warm welcome at our HQ in Prague, we moved to our factory in northern Czech Republic, where — at the customer's request — we prepared a special outdoor version of the FAT. We even built a purpose-built temporary substructure outside to showcase live radar performance and conduct a full sun calibration. We’re proud to share that our state-of-the-art 1° beamwidth, 10kW Solid State C-band weather radar passed all tests with flying colors. Next stop: Abidjan, Ivory Coast! A big thank you to our team, Meteo France International, and SODEXAM for the collaboration and trust. #Radar #WeatherRadar #FactoryAcceptanceTest #Innovation #Meteopress

Next week, we’ll be attending WindEurope in Copenhagen. Instead of a standard booth, we’ll be outside showcasing our mobile weather radar. As wind farms continue to expand, they can interfere with weather radar data by creating blockages or clutter. This is a concern not only for national meteorological services, which need to maintain consistent coverage, but also for energy companies — in some cases, they may even be required to fund supplementary radar installations to mitigate the impact of new wind farms. If you're attending, stop by and see the radar up close — and let’s talk about how to keep weather monitoring reliable as wind energy grows. #WindEurope2025 #WeatherRadar

Last week, we took part in the Nineteenth Session of Regional Association IV of the World Meteorological Organization, and this week we’re attending the Hurricane Committee, both held in San Salvador. These events offer an important platform to engage with representatives of national meteorological services from across the region and to contribute to ongoing discussions on forecasting, resilience, and regional cooperation. During the RA IV session, we also had the chance to thank Celeste Saulo, Secretary-General of WMO, for launching our Tonga radar last August. Over the weekend, we had a chance to explore a bit of El Salvador, a country that has gone through major changes in recent years and now feels welcoming and safe. One highlight was a walk up Volcán de Santa Ana, the highest volcano in the country.

[𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 – 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗿 – 𝗩𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗠 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁]   🧬 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗙𝗜’𝘀 𝗗𝗡𝗔… That's why we are enthusiastically supporting the ongoing radar inter-comparison experiment we have been able to foster between the weather radar manufacturer Meteopress and our mother company Météo-France, within the dynamics of the VIGICLIMM Project we are currently carrying out for SODEXAM Côte d'Ivoire. 📡𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱... The VIGICLIMM Project for the Ivorian Meteorological Directorate, includes the supply of a C-band weather radar. Always on the lookout for the most advanced, high-performance equipment to supply our customers, we very early on targeted 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 and its radars, based on innovative solid-state semiconductor technology. Easy to implement, easy to maintain, minimal power consumption... these radars have a lot going for them 😊! 𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗠 immediately identified the technological leap and decided to take the plunge, becoming one of the first African countries to equip itself with this type of equipment. ⛅In the meantime, 𝗠𝗙𝗜 arranged with 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦 a rental solid-state radar for a period of 6 months for 𝗠𝗘́𝗧𝗘́𝗢-𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 to conduct a unique scientific experiment aiming at comparing the data from their existing C-band radar with those from the solid-state radar. It was decided 𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦’ radar would be installed on one of the twin towers of 𝗠𝗘́𝗧𝗘́𝗢-𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘’s Operational Center in Toulouse, at a walking distance from 𝗠𝗙𝗜’s headquarters. The radar arrived on Monday, was installed by Tuesday and the first data were available on Wednesday morning … Thanks for the rainy night ☔😉 🙏🏻 Faithful to its public/private partnership approach, 𝗠𝗙𝗜 is thrilled to have been able to bring all these entities together, weaving an innovative and unique model of scientific and technical collaboration. We thank each stakeholder for their commitment and look forward to following the outputs of this great experiment.
