How can I build a strong career in marketing without experience?

I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on digital marketing. I have some experience creating social media content and collaborating with brands, but I want to know how I can grow my skills, gain more experience, and find the remote career opportunities while still studying. Any advice from professionals in marketing, branding, or social media would be really helpful!

What to do if you are limited in opportunities?

Hi, my area is not well known for opportunities and events so as a student, I had to travel by plane or boat if I really do wanted to go such events. I already did once when I used up my internship allowance to go to a conference last year and rode by plane, but I want to go this year and plane tickets are very expensive. And as for remote opportunities, it's also limited as well since most are in-person meetups. So I leverage on webinars which only comes by sometimes. I tried to change or get exposure as much as possible, but it seems like I'm about to give up on my or hopeless in my situation and most internships and also webinars and from other areas.

How can I structure my next steps in a way that builds a strong, scholarship-worthy profile?

I’m a Biochemistry graduate with a strong interest in applying for Master's programs abroad. I have basic hands-on experience with fundamental biochemical techniques such as PCR, DNA extraction, and gel electrophoresis. However, I’m looking to strengthen my academic and professional profile to increase my chances of securing scholarships. I’ve completed several online courses through platforms like Coursera, but since I opted for the free versions, I don’t have certificates to show for them. I would appreciate guidance on: What specific skills (lab-based or computational) I should focus on improving? Are there any online internships or volunteer projects I can apply to that are relevant to biochemistry or bioinformatics? Where can I find internships in Islamabad, especially ones considered relevant to my field? How can I structure my next steps in a way that builds a strong, scholarship-worthy profile? I’ve previously completed an internship in the biology department of a university in Islamabad, and I’m eager to take on further experiences that can help me grow in the research and academic space. I’d be truly grateful for any advice, resources, or structured pathway you can suggest.

What are the activities (including internships, volunteering, research, etc)? Can I apply to pursue a career in psychology as a sophomore college student? Could you please help suggest activities, organizations, or places where I can start (including the specific websites or names of the places)?

I am nearly in my sophomore year (the fall of 2025), basically I don't have either an Associate or a Bachelor in Psychology field, I wonder if any activities in this field I could do to learn more about my major and improve my skills as I want to become a psychologist/therapist and a researcher in psychology.

Do research online programs like Lumiere, Indigo Research, Polygence, etc, really help in getting into better schools?

Hi I just finished my junior year and I'm about to go into my senior year. This summer I have been looking for things to do for college and came across these research opportunities. I recently got accepted into one and I'm really excited about the opportunity of stepping into something different like this, challenging myself. These research programs come with a cost which isn't something very affordable for my family and something my parents' aren't really willing to pay. I'm really enthusiastic about this opportunity, but I want to know if the price is really worth it, if I would be spending my money on something that will positively affect my future: getting into a good college, obtaining scholarships, gaining experience for my career. This is something I'm really considering even if my parents are not really willing to pay for it, I want to know if it's worth it so I can find a way to make it work. I'm open to hearing everyone's honest opinions on the topic, thank you!

I had marketing internships but now i am scared to do tech ones. Any advice?

I am an IT senior but my resume is more business-centered focus since I am not a technical type of person. I hate coding but lately, I want to dive into non-tech roles with minimal coding or like other branches of IT but I chickened out. Some of the requirements like python code development. I do not have that skillset. Should I still apply and learn from the internship? or should I beefed up my resume first? Some roles I am interested in: business analyst, project management, product development or ui/ux design.

Is an internship in an unrelated domain always better than no internship at all?

I am a freshman student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science. I'm currently working on developing my programming skills via various MOOCs and also doing personal projects so I can start applying to good internships related to my field of data science and machine learning in a few months. Our college placement cell is always offering "internships" to students, they are mostly in the categories of either sales related (where we have to call people and inform them about a particular product generating leads) or academic counsellor positions in various colleges in our vicinity. I am very introverted and these kinds of roles do not generally suit me and mostly just stress me out. So coming to my question, while I develop my skills for a proper data science related internship, are these other internships even valuable to pursue, or are they probably just a waste of my time which I could divert elsewhere? (like upskilling in data science areas, or maybe just relaxing to avoid potential burnout)

What to do if your employer will give you a bad reference?

Hello, I have been doing a BDR internship for a Indian startup for a month and I didn’t book anything, now I am trying a new approach. The founder tho, sees me as dishonest and unreliable because we had some misunderstanding. I fear he will be a bad reference for when I’ll finish high school and I’ll try to get a SDR/BDR job for a US company(I am from Italy). I fear he might say that I am not a good employee and he will jeopardise my chances of getting a job. Now he hasn’t fired me from the internship yet, but he wants me to book something for the end of the week. I fear he might just be firing me out of the internship. He is very micromanaging and pretty pretentious (even if it’s a unpaid internship). Should I put this on my resume? It’s the only sales experience I have so I don’t know what to do. Please I really need to get a BDR job after high school. Plus if in a few months from now I won’t sell anything, should I put it on my resume anyways? I am finishing school so I don’t have time for actually stick to it. Plus I am doing another internship and managing 2 websites. Can I still make it a valuable experience on my resume even if I dint sell anything?

What should I do if I'm starting to feel like accounting isn't for me anymore, even though I still want to be a successful accountant or partner at a Big 4 firm someday #Spring25?

People aren't kidding when they say junior year is the hardest. I'm currently a junior majoring in accounting, and I’ve been struggling this semester—especially with Intermediate Accounting 2 and Intro to Tax. I also work two small on-campus jobs and have a part-time remote tax internship. While I liked my supervisors, I’m unsure if I want to go the tax route long-term. Lately, I’ve been really stressed. I didn’t do well on my recent exams, and with finals coming up, I’m losing confidence and not enjoying what I’m learning. I’m starting to wonder if accounting is still the right path for me. I used to enjoy it back at community college, but these university-level courses are definitely tougher. The thing is, I still want a stable corporate career, and I’ve always dreamed of working at a Big 4 firm—I even have an internship lined up for Summer 2026. I don’t want to waste that opportunity. I don’t really have any other strong interests, so switching majors feels scary and uncertain. I like solving problems and working hands-on, but this semester has been rough. Has anyone else felt like this before? Should I wait until my internship to see if it’s a better fit? How do you push through the hard parts of the accounting journey?
