What happens when you bring 45 small business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and sole traders into one room? Yesterday at Intuit HQ, we embodied our value of customer obsession by hosting a social media networking event. Attendees were among the first to try brand new Bhangra Blends drinks, fresh from the manufacturer, and gained invaluable insights from Naida Allen, who delivered a memorable LinkedIn business workshop. The event also featured a fun sip-and-paint networking experience. Seeing business owners connect, share tips, offer advice, and swap experiences in person was truly inspiring. It highlighted how vital these moments are, especially given that small business owners and startups can often feel isolated. Want to come to our next social event? Drop us a comment. A huge thank you to Bhangra Blends and Naida Allen for co-hosting with us! #SocialMedia #Networking #smallbusiness

I’m NEVER going to another networking event. Unless it’s got: - fun activities like paint n’sip - Graham Norton-core interviews - refreshing drinks with Bhangra Blends - mouth-watering canapés & cheese board - And is totally free, no strings attached! Basically, I just want to re-do the Small Business Social with Intuit QuickBooks yesterday. Because honestly? Best night ever. I’m still riding the high from it. We SOLD OUT tickets - and the room was filled with 40 hungry entrepreneurs. I yapped about business visibility, and how to put yourself on the map. AND, I was lucky to meet tonnes of cool & inspiring people. From solopreneurs creating ancient medicine inspired programs for women’s health, to siblings co-founding a protein snack business. The vibes were 10/10. Conversation was flowing. No one wanted to leave (genuinely, security *almost* kicked us out) and there was no pitch-slapping. It was all about true connection. I even saw 2 co-founders exchange numbers to collab and make a new Indian-spice-inspired meat stick. 😭 THIS. This is what entrepreneurship is all about - helping each other. There was no competition. Just genuine humans who all want to win, and see others win, too. Quickbooks, you’ve outdone yourself (again). Serena B. and AJ Brinnand - thank you for organising a stellar event; I want more ASAP. 👏

10 Downing Street, we meet AGAIN?! 😳 Yesterday I was very kindly invited to join in on the launch of Intuit’s Small Business Growth Council 🫱🏽🫲🏼 It was an incredible day ranging from meetings with the Secretary of State for Business and Trade to Samantha Niblett MP 🏢 Throughout the day we discussed important topics impacting small business owners including: 🌟 How we can better use digital tools to aid running our businesses 🌟 How the Government can better democratise the use of AI 🌟 How the Government can better support SMEs with late payments This new council is designed to champion economic growth by ensuring small businesses are heard in policymaking, so yesterday was a great opportunity to share real challenges and discuss solutions, and help shape policies that drive meaningful change💡 With over 5.6 million small businesses in the UK it’s important that we are having these conversations so the Government are aware of how they can best support us in an ever-changing economy 💸 It was a real honour to be a part of such an inspiring and thought-provoking day, thank you Intuit QuickBooks for having me!💚

What happens when you put 100+ powerful, ambitious & iconic women into a room? YOU FLIPPIN’ PARTY! 🥳 Firstly, I’ve never been to an event this fun before. I mean, mimosas at 9am hearing incredible women talk about their entrepreneurial ventures and career milestones (including THE Claudia Winkleman) was a wild start to my Thursday morning. The energy was electric. I couldn’t scribble down my notes fast enough. God, where do I even start?! Here are my key takeaways/quotes of the day: → “Make some good trouble!” Wise words from Shevaun Haviland. As women, we struggle to ask for help and take risks. But we don’t need to do that alone - so build your own “personal boardroom of people” who cushion the risk. → “Do the hard work - the results don’t happen overnight.” A great reminder from Marjorie Leonidas. We half expect instant gratification in everything we do; but that’s not real life (or business). So put in the graft, be in it for the long game, and success will compound. → “Your intersectional experiences shape you.” Brilliant lesson from Dr. Elsa Zekeng that you yourself IS the superpower - and everything you learn, all the skills you nurture, the good & tough times, get you to where you need to be. → “90% of the stuff you worry about doesn’t happen.” Thank you, Jennifer. That’s saved me £££ of therapy. → “I’m a big fan of imposter syndrome. We’ve all met people who don’t have it… and we don’t want to sleep with them.” YES, Claudia. In this industry, life, careers, our 20s, whether solopreneurship or not, we will feel the nerves and the fear in literally E V E R Y T H I N G we do. It’s what makes us human, and unique, so lean into it. I know IWD can feel performative and stuffy. But it’s clear this was an intentional movement to celebrate everything we’ve achieved as women so far, what we still need to do, and the part everyone plays to get to gender equality. A massive thank you to Intuit QuickBooks for the invite, Leigh Thomas for exceptional hosting, Serena B. for basically being my personal agent (you’re hired) - and to everyone involved. I walked away feeling proud to be a woman in biz. What’s your fav quote? Anything to add?

Imagine making Claudia Winkleman choose between having her iconic long fringe, OR her orange glowing tan? Seems unfair right? Why should she have to choose? 🤷🏼♀️ Because BOTH of those things make up part of who she is…. It would be like asking women to choose between their career OR being a mother… 🚨 According to statistics in the UK, the gender inequality in the workplace and the lack of support for women (especially if they’re mothers) - they are having to choose. Did you know 70% of women who have childcare responsibilities have missed out massively in their careers (re promotions and career support) Compared to only 30% of men 🤯 —- I was invited to the Intuit International Women’s Day breakfast event and it was AMAZING. Being surrounded by inspiring women is my favourite way to spend my morning… The energy in the air was next level. The morning included : ⭐️ A key note speech from Shevaun Haviland a first female Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce in its 161-year history. ⭐️ An incredible panel of powerhouse female enterprises making waves in their industries ⭐️ A fireside chat with presenting royalty, Claudia Winkleman. ⭐️ And a beautiful performance from The Violet Choir —- My favourite quotes from the day…. 🫂 “You don’t have to do it along. It’s easier to be braver and stronger when we’re together” - Shevaun Haviland Haviland “As women, we shouldn’t be afraid of power” - Leigh Thomas 🧠 “Mindset is the most crucial thing going into any room. Believing that you can succeed int our space is key” - Josephine Phillips ‼️ “Don’t be afaird to jump in and say yes. Have agency and urgency. Tell them what you want and tell them now” - Dr Elsa Zekeng 💡 “Sometimes you have to just make a decisions and go with it and learn from” - Maloria Leonidas 👏🏽 “What other people who think of me is none of my business” - Claudia Winkleman The event wanted to bring together inspirational female entrepreneurs and allies to learn, and celebrate how the UK is breaking barriers to fight bias and champion female entrepreneurship. And it did just that ♥️ Very very grateful to be in such an amazing and inspirational room. Thank you Serena B. and Intuit QuickBooks
