At Microsoft, we believe that transparency is foundational to trust. As cyber threats continue to rise, it is more important than ever to empower customers to understand security effectiveness. Today we are announcing two initiatives to support that objective for email security effectiveness First, to provide Microsoft Defender for Office 365 customers with richer data on its efficacy, we are releasing a new customer-facing dashboard that will provide visibility on our effectiveness across a range of threat vectors. Second, we are releasing two comparative benchmarking reports designed to assist customers in evaluating the benefits of integrating multiple email security solutions. Security is a team sport and we are grateful for the partnerships across the ecosystem to help us get here; and looking forward to continuing to work with everyone on building a safer world for all. 💜 https://lnkd.in/gGrZ_ZwA

The internet is quietly rounding a corner—from flat screens to spatial canvases—and the limiting factor isn’t silicon or bandwidth, it’s 3D content. Most teams can prototype ideas, but only the lucky few have the artists, pipelines, and time to bring them to life in volumetric form. That gap is why we launched TRELLIS today on Foundry Labs! Trained on 500 k+ richly varied objects, TRELLIS lets anyone describe—or show—what they want and instantly receive a high‑fidelity asset that’s ready for a game engine, an AR headset, a physics sim, or a design tool. Its new Structured Latents (SLAT) format speaks three dialects at once—Radiance Fields, 3‑D Gaussians, and Meshes—so creators can swap representations without re‑authoring work. Can’t wait to see what you build next. https://lnkd.in/gJQEep5d

Giraffes’ spots are as unique as our own fingerprints. Research has suggested that this may help giraffes recognize each other and even signify their social status. Incredibly, this natural adaptation holds the key to a powerful AI tool that is changing how conservationists track and protect these beautiful animals. GIRAFFE (Generalized Image-based Re-Identification using AI for Fauna Feature Extraction) is a new open-source tool developed by Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab in partnership with the WILD NATURE INSTITUTE. Using advanced computer vision, GIRAFFE identifies individual giraffes from their unique spot patterns with over 90% accuracy. It also automates workflows, such as uploading and cataloguing photos, enabling researchers to process and match thousands of images in real time in the field. And because it is open-source and requires no coding, it is accessible and scalable. In Tanzania, where populations of wild giraffes have declined more than 50% in the last 30 years, conservationists are already using GIRAFFE to monitor survival rates, migration routes, reproductive patterns, and other valuable data that will help them bring those numbers back up. But this technology goes beyond giraffes – the same architecture can be applied to identify any species with unique visual patterns. Throughout my career at Microsoft, I’ve always been drawn to roles that sit at the intersection of innovation, inclusion and impact. The thing that has always excited me most about AI and other emerging technologies is their capacity to make the world a better place – for ALL the creatures who live here. As an animal lover and a fierce advocate for wildlife conservation, I am thrilled to see Microsoft AI being used to help protect our planet’s most vulnerable inhabitants.
