  • A new AI Co-Innovation Lab has opened at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, created in partnership with Microsoft, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and TitletownTech. The lab builds on Microsoft’s $3.3 billion investment in Wisconsin and a year of pilot engagements with local companies. In that time, teams have developed AI solutions for fault detection in industrial machinery, multilingual voice assistants for logistics, and tools to forecast supply chain lead times and manage hydroponic farms. Now in its permanent home, the lab connects organizations of all sizes with Microsoft engineers to define use cases, co-design solutions and build prototypes using Microsoft AI and cloud technologies.   • What role do sustainable fuels play in reducing our greenhouse gas emissions? In this edition of Sustainably Speaking, fuel expert Julia Fidler shares insights and progress on one of the trickiest parts of our carbon footprint—and one that offers many opportunities for action.
