The internet is quietly rounding a corner—from flat screens to spatial canvases—and the limiting factor isn’t silicon or bandwidth, it’s 3D content. Most teams can prototype ideas, but only the lucky few have the artists, pipelines, and time to bring them to life in volumetric form. That gap is why we launched TRELLIS today on Foundry Labs! Trained on 500 k+ richly varied objects, TRELLIS lets anyone describe—or show—what they want and instantly receive a high‑fidelity asset that’s ready for a game engine, an AR headset, a physics sim, or a design tool. Its new Structured Latents (SLAT) format speaks three dialects at once—Radiance Fields, 3‑D Gaussians, and Meshes—so creators can swap representations without re‑authoring work. Can’t wait to see what you build next. https://lnkd.in/gJQEep5d

Giraffes’ spots are as unique as our own fingerprints. Research has suggested that this may help giraffes recognize each other and even signify their social status. Incredibly, this natural adaptation holds the key to a powerful AI tool that is changing how conservationists track and protect these beautiful animals.   GIRAFFE (Generalized Image-based Re-Identification using AI for Fauna Feature Extraction) is a new open-source tool developed by Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab in partnership with the WILD NATURE INSTITUTE. Using advanced computer vision, GIRAFFE identifies individual giraffes from their unique spot patterns with over 90% accuracy. It also automates workflows, such as uploading and cataloguing photos, enabling researchers to process and match thousands of images in real time in the field. And because it is open-source and requires no coding, it is accessible and scalable.   In Tanzania, where populations of wild giraffes have declined more than 50% in the last 30 years, conservationists are already using GIRAFFE to monitor survival rates, migration routes, reproductive patterns, and other valuable data that will help them bring those numbers back up. But this technology goes beyond giraffes – the same architecture can be applied to identify any species with unique visual patterns.   Throughout my career at Microsoft, I’ve always been drawn to roles that sit at the intersection of innovation, inclusion and impact. The thing that has always excited me most about AI and other emerging technologies is their capacity to make the world a better place – for ALL the creatures who live here. As an animal lover and a fierce advocate for wildlife conservation, I am thrilled to see Microsoft AI being used to help protect our planet’s most vulnerable inhabitants.   Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gWGDVJ6M

This is one of the smartest and useful ways to leverage the power of Minecraft. Educators at the Chandler Unified School District in Arizona are using Minecraft Education to prepare students to safely navigate the digital world. As digital learning becomes the norm, cybersecurity education is no longer a “nice to have”—it’s a necessity. That’s why Minecraft Education launched a new case study spotlighting the Chandler Unified School District, where they’re taking bold steps to prepare students for a safer digital future. Minecraft Education’s Cyber & Digital Citizenship curriculum transforms complex topics like phishing, encryption, and digital ethics into hands-on, game-based learning experiences that resonate with students of all ages. Minecraft Education’s cybersecurity content empowers students to: • Understand how to protect their digital identities • Recognize and respond to cyber threats • Develop ethical decision-making in digital spaces Click here to see more of the case study, and learn how you can bring Minecraft Education to your classroom: xbx.lv/44RfjkY

AI isn’t something happening to us; it’s something we’re shaping with intention. Microsoft Elevate is a new initiative that brings together our education, nonprofit, and skilling efforts around one mission: to put people first in the AI economy. We’re setting bold goals—helping 20 million people earn AI skills credentials in the next two years and investing over $4 billion in technology and support for schools and nonprofits globally. At the heart of this work is a belief I hold deeply: The future of AI must be built on opportunities for everyone. Because meaningful innovation doesn’t just create new tools. It creates new chances to grow, connect, and thrive. Let’s keep building a future where AI doesn’t replace humanity but elevates it. https://lnkd.in/gtgEz7-W

    • By 20230, 59% of the global workforce will need new digital skills (Source: WEF Future of Jobs Report).
But 75% of youth globally don't have the skills they need for the AI economy (Source: UNICEF/Education Commission).
Microsoft Elevate is committed to expanding AI skilling globally, helping 20 million people earn an in-demand AI skilling credential in the next 2 years.

Powerful things can happen when Nordic vision and global collaboration come together. Today, Denmark’s – and Europe’s – quantum ambitions take a bold step forward with the launch of QuNorth. In this new initiative, the EIFO and Novo Nordisk Foundation together invest €80 million to establish QuNorth. Its mission is to acquire, build and operate the world’s most powerful commercial quantum computer. This computer will be called Magne, inspired by a figure of strength in Norse mythology.  We are so proud that this computer will be delivered by Microsoft and Atom Computing and that Magne will be the first operational deployment anywhere in the world of a Level 2 machine powered by logical qubits. This is a milestone moment for the quantum industry as we step past the era of Level 1 NISQ machines and into a new era of increasingly powerful reliable quantum computation. I am also proud that our partnership with QuNorth reflects trust in Microsoft’s quantum expertise and exemplifies our deep roots and commitment to Denmark, the Nordic region, and Europe’s success. It mirrors our mission to help develop vibrant quantum ecosystems through technology-forward investments. Magne will provide quantum startups, academic and research institutions, and the private sector with the latest quantum capabilities, which promise to accelerate innovation and drive further economic growth. At Microsoft, we stand behind milestones like this that represent what we deeply value: advancing technology in ways that matter for our partners and that enable further innovation. QuNorth and Magne are clear examples of what can be achieved when the right people, institutions and ideas come together. I am excited to see QuNorth and Magne come to life over the coming months! #QuantumComputing #Innovation #Microsoft #MicrosoftQuantum #Magne

Satya Nadella and I recently jumped on a quick video call – but this one was a bit different. I was sitting in the all-new CLA the entire time! And thanks to our latest collaboration and ongoing partnership with Microsoft, Mercedes-Benz is setting a new benchmark for in-car productivity. With the enhanced Meetings app for Microsoft Teams, I joined the call using the built-in camera. No video distraction as soon as the car is moving, though. We’ve also natively integrated Microsoft Intune into MB.OS, making Mercedes-Benz the first OEM to bring enterprise-grade security standards to the car. And yes, we’re working on bringing Microsoft 365 Copilot into the car, too. All these features will be available in MB.OS-powered vehicles starting with the new CLA this summer. Let’s just say: the future of work is shifting gears. But see for yourselves!
