👋 Hey friends! I made a 1-minute walkthrough of how to set up Figma MCP and get Cursor working smoothly with it. After my last post, a bunch of people asked how I set it up. At first, I thought it was pretty straightforward—but when I tried it again from scratch, I realized there are a few easy-to-miss steps that can totally break the flow. Here are a few things to watch out for: 🤖 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 “𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭” 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞 + 𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐞-4-𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐭 Yesterday, I was waiting forever for something to generate... and it just kept looping on a basic bug. Turns out I forgot to switch from “Auto” to “Claude-4-sonnet.” Cursor really struggled until I made that change. ✅ 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐦𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐬 “𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐯” If you skip this, the link won’t work as expected when you hand it to Cursor. 🛠️ 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠? 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 Not seeing the implementation? Getting weird results or running into an error? Take a screenshot or paste the code into the chat—the Cursor agent can usually help troubleshoot it right there. 🎁 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐩: 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 I asked it to reply in Chinese, which made it easier for me to separate the AI's explanations from the code snippets in the chat. Surprisingly, this made it much easier for me to scan and understand the code—it lowered the learning curve more than I expected. 📎 Here’s the Figma MCP configuration snippet: https://lnkd.in/gZfsSsqG Hope this helps save you a few hours! 😅 View step-by-step walkthrough in the video 👇 Feel free to drop your questions or share what you’re building. Enjoy! #FigmaMCP #Cursor #vibecoding

  • AI Job Search is ramping, and it’s redefining how people discover work on LinkedIn. Behind the scenes of this AI-powered shift is an effort that’s been months in the making. For the design team, the challenge wasn’t just about making the new possible; it was about making it understandable, usable, and worthy of trust. Here’s a glimpse of what we focused on: Reimagining what job search feels like We helped identify core member needs and fill gaps across the end-to-end search journey. From onboarding and query articulation to job evaluation and continuous discovery, this directly informed how we structured the experience. Informing the foundation of AI search Design played a key role in shaping product policy for our LLM-based retrieval system. This guidance defined what “good” relevance looks like through the lens of seeker needs and became a critical input for both the model and the humans training it. Prototyping the future while launching the present As we shipped MVPs, we also prototyped long-term concepts that imagined richer, more delightful search experiences. Design helped visualize what’s next in addition to optimizing what’s now. This took a truly cross-functional effort with every partner stretching beyond their usual role, adapting quickly, and learning as they went to bring this to life. We're grateful to work on a team where design isn't an add-on: it's at the core of how we build trust and unlock new behaviors. Shoutout to our designers, Lauren Jow and Peipei Wang, and Design Manager, Yasmeen Tawfeek. Plus, our incredible partners across Product, Eng, AI, Research, and Marketing. This is just the beginning! #LinkedInDesign #AI #AIJobSearch

People often ask me how I got to where I am today. I did not study marketing in school, nor did I get an MBA. I thought I'd do something useful with my love for languages (diplomat?), then stories (film producer?), and then realized I needed a viable employment (rent, food, stuff like that) and not an unpaid internship, which landed me at my first job in marketing. 20+ years later, a big part of my job is about influencing and negotiating with people every single day, while making stuff happen with dynamic deadlines and whatever resources I've got at my disposal. That's kind of like being a diplomat and a producer every single day, right? We're introducing our AI-powered job search so that you can dream and imagine a bit while you're planning for your next move, whether you're looking for your first job or a pivot in your career. Dare to discover how a "pipe dream" might just be the thing that leads you to exactly where you're supposed to be...

✨🥇 My book Natural: Black Beauty and the Politics of Hair has won the Best Book Award from the Body and Embodiment Section of the American Sociological Association! 🎉 Publishing an academic monograph after transitioning into industry research has been a ride—one full of many sleepless and (seemingly thankless) nights. Straddling multiple passions hasn’t always been easy, but I felt called to do justice by the research and the brilliant women who shared their stories with me as I traveled from LA to NYC to Cape Town and Bahía. Seeing this project through to the end has been one of the most meaningful accomplishments of my career. Thank you to the awards committee, NYU Press, and to the scholars who continue to make room for embodied, intersectional, and joyful work. Excited to see old pals at ASA in Chicago this August! 🖤 #ASA2025 #NaturalTheBook #Sociology #BlackFeminism #Embodiment #AcademicToIndustry #AltAc #SociologistsWorkingEverywhere

Normally, every Friday I try to share a Friday Fix .. something in the product that had been causing friction and we fixed it, or a top feature request that is ramping. But today I want to show you the team that makes it happen. The team of builders, product athletes, learners, dreamers and doers .. who are committed to making the member experience better every single day. This picture is from our product offsite this week - where we spent time workshopping, listening to our members, building chairs (will keep this for a later post), and giving back to the community. I am lucky to be working with this awesome group of people - they show up ready to tackle challenges, support each other, and push the boundaries of what’s possible, and I know they are going to keep fixing and improving LinkedIn for all Fridays to come.

🎉 We're excited to celebrate our LSS Design team's breakthrough work on Sales Assistant! Monica Lewis just shared the first look at what will be a game-changer for sales professionals everywhere. The design challenge? Revolutionary. 🚀 We weren't just solving user pain points - we were pioneering new interaction patterns for agentic AI experiences. Our team had to define these interactions from scratch - there was no playbook for agentic AI in B2B sales. They also worked to ensure the experience felt authentically LinkedIn while introducing something new to the market. How did we approach it? With thoughtful iteration. ✨ The team embraced agility - rapidly testing interaction patterns, iterating on flows, and refining the experience - while maintaining LinkedIn Design's quality standards. They stayed close to customers, letting real feedback guide design decisions. The result? An AI prospecting partner that feels natural, intuitive, and incredibly powerful. Users can discover key contacts, tap into LinkedIn's unique signals for perfect timing, and identify the most effective engagement paths - all through interactions that feel effortless. 👏 Huge shoutout to the LSS Design team: Nicholas Smith,   👩🏻💻 Shuhan YangAngie W.Parth MehtaSupriya R., and Manas Modi!
