Genomines, a biotechnology company, is using synthetic biology to improve the ability of plants to extract battery-grade nickel with minimal environmental impact. With support from BCG and BCG X, Genomines refined its strategy, accelerated growth, and scaled from a single plant to 95 million across hundreds of thousands of hectares annually.
