That’s a smart concern—and a common one. Here are a few effective ways to diversify and protect your content reach beyond just relying on one platform’s algorithm. 1. Build an Email List….. Own your audience. Email gives you direct access to your followers without relying on any algorithm. 2. Repurpose Content …..Turn one piece of content into multiple formats (blog post, video, podcast clip, infographic) and share across different platforms. 3. Leverage Multiple Platforms…..Don’t rely solely on one social media app. Share tailored versions of your content on LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and even Medium. 4. Engage with Communities…. Participate in niche forums, Reddit threads, Facebook groups.

1. Multi-Platform Presence: Share content on multiple platforms (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok) to reduce reliance on any one algorithm. 2. Build an Email List: Own your audience by collecting emails and sending regular newsletters. 3. Create Evergreen Content: Focus on timeless topics that consistently attract views via search and recommendations. 4. Engage with Communities: Participate in niche forums, groups, and Discords to build organic reach outside algorithms.

Worried about the algorithm messing with your reach? Same. That’s why I’m diversifying my content. I’m repurposing for YouTube, TikTok, Reels—same message, new format. I’m building an email list (because IG can’t shadowban that), turning interviews into podcasts, and working with other creators to grow together. I’m also making searchable content that lives on beyond trends, and building a real community off-platform. The goal? Own your audience. Don’t let one app decide your worth. The algorithm might change, but your hustle doesn’t have to.

Algorithm changes will always come, but your voice, your values, and your vision are far more enduring. As someone grounded in kaupapa Māori, governance, and lived experience, I focus on building relationships, not just reach. Diversifying means sharing kōrero (talks) in more than one form: LinkedIn posts, panel talks, poems, newsletters, and kanohi ki te kanohi (face to face) hui. I’ve repurposed reflections into articles, turned lived experience into research, and used social platforms to invite others into meaningful conversation, not just marketing. The goal isn’t to chase algorithms it’s to create a web of connection where your message carries regardless of the platform.

When algorithm shifts hit, I don’t panic—I diversify. I build across multiple platforms, repurpose content with intention, and focus on assets I control like my email list and private community. Platforms change, but consistent value and smart distribution keep your reach alive. Your brand isn’t built on trends—it’s built on trust, consistency, and long-game thinking.
