💡Travel Tip to stay on the right side of the law.  This week, a case at the Albanian 🇦🇱 border involved a civilian found carrying over €10.000 in undeclared cash. The amount was immediately confiscated, in accordance with EU regulations.  Thanks to the vigilance and professionalism of the Albanian authorities and Frontex, the law was applied correctly, protecting legitimate travel, ensuring transparency and safeguarding the integrity of our external borders. ️✈️ Important reminder for all travellers:  When crossing EU borders, you are legally required to declare any amount over €10.000 in cash. Failing to do can result in confiscation and legal sanctions. 👏 A big thank you to the officers for their commitment and attention to detail.  ✅️Travel informed. Stay compliant. 💪 Another milestone achieved in setting technical standards for the equipment used in Frontex activities! In 2024, Frontex took a major step forward in strengthening the interoperability and compatibility of border management equipment with the launch of the Study on Conformity Assessment for Border Management Equipment. 📖 This study presents a structured, objective approach designed to assess equipment against Frontex Technical Standards, supporting the European Border and Coast Guard Regulation’s requirements for its Technical Equipment Pool (TEP). The study maps the landscape of border management equipment and practical methodology and identifies potential partners to support a pilot equipment assessment. 🤔 What does the study enable for the future of EU border management? - Greater border management practices across the Schengen Area  - More systematic equipment assessment by EU Member States  - Future innovations produced by the Frontex Innovation and Technology (FIT) Centre which soon will be hosted at our new headquarters 👏 We are proud to share this achievement with you and extend our thanks to all the contributing stakeholders — the EU Member States, SACs, European Defence Agency and other contributors — for their continued collaboration. Together against human trafficking 1 200 victims of human trafficking were saved in the global operation. From sexual exploitation to forced begging and criminal activity, too many lives have been torn apart by these crimes. Frontex teamed-up with Europol, INTERPOL and 43 countries worldwide to crack down criminal networks engaged in human trafficking. 15 000 officers in 43 countries worldwide were engaged in a worldwide operation targeting criminal networks engaged in human trafficking. Frontex, Europol and INTERPOL supported by deploying experts, sharing intelligence and helping rescue those in need.
