  • As learning methods evolve with new technologies, techniques, and approaches, training must keep pace. For those delivering asylum and reception training, staying ahead of these developments is essential to support effective, high-quality implementation. 📍 Held in Malta on 12–13 June 2025, the EUAA Conference for Trainers gathered trainers from across the EU for two days of collaboration and professional exchange. Participants explored innovative approaches to learning and development. 💡 Topics included AI-enhanced learning, digital communities of practice, and simulation-based training—key methods for equipping trainers to support national officials in line with EU standards.

  • Every decision taken by asylum officials has real consequences, not only for those seeking protection but for the credibility of the asylum system itself. Fairness, accuracy, and consistency are essential. That’s why the #EUAAcademy exists: to equip national asylum and reception officials across the EU+ with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to implement EU asylum law in line with fundamental rights. As the first EU-and only accredited training academy in this field, it delivers standardised, fit-for-purpose programmes that strengthen trust, build capacity, and promote convergence. 🎥 Watch our video to learn how our journey started to gradually become the EUAA Academy 📘Read all about it at: https://europa.eu/!YKkXFt

  • When unaccompanied children arrive in a new country, clear and accessible information is essential. It helps them understand their rights, the reception system, and what to expect during the asylum process. To support this, the EUAA is developing a set of information templates tailored for unaccompanied children, accompanied children, and adults—aligned with the Reception Conditions Directive and the Pact on Migration and Asylum. On 22 May, in Greece, the EUAA tested child-friendly versions of these templates with EUAA – deployed Mentors who -in their majority- were themselves once unaccompanied minors. Their feedback is helping make the materials clearer, safer, and more relevant. ℹ️ This work is being developed in close collaboration with Member State experts, UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, DG HOME - European Commission, and the EUAA Reception Network. A special thanks to the Greek Reception and Identification Service (RIS) and the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection for their strong support in this important initiative.
