Presentato uno studio per l’elaborazione di uno U-space su Bari e l’integrazione dei servizi U-space forniti tramite le piattaforme D-Flight (CIS e USSP) nella HMI del Drone Operation Center (DOC). Abbiamo siglato l’accordo di partenariato tecnico-operativo con SIS 118 e UrbanV per l’avvio di SEUAM – Sanitary Emergency Urban Air Mobility. Si tratta di un progetto pionieristico che punta a rivoluzionare il soccorso sanitario d’emergenza attraverso l’impiego di droni e sistemi di mobilità aerea urbana (Urban Air Mobility). Progress in Medical Transport by Drone in Varese On July 3rd, a successful test flight was carried out as part of the EU-funded U-ELCOME DSD Project , with a drone simulating the transport of medical supplies from #Milan Malpensa’s Cargo City to Varese’s Hospital del Circolo and back. This milestone, achieved through the collaboration of SEA Milan Airports, City of Varese, and ASST Sette Laghi, aims to improve delivery times, reduce CO₂ emissions, and enhance sustainability in the healthcare sector. Using long-range electric drones designed for urban operations, the project demonstrates how advanced air mobility can support faster, greener, and safer logistics. The initiative is coordinated by EUROCONTROL within the SESAR Joint Undertaking, with SEA leading the Milan Sandbox—a safe testing environment for innovative drone services. A promising step toward integrating drone-based transport into future healthcare logistics. SEA collaborates with several Italian partners, including ENAV, D-Flight, EuroUSC Italia S.r.l., Telespazio, Techno Sky, and Dronus in the planning and development of flight campaigns, as well as with ENAC - Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazione Civile on regulatory and authorization matters. As part of IAM SPAIN by Expodronica, the U-ELCOME DSD Project was presented an initiative funded by CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency with the support of SESAR Joint Undertaking and EUROCONTROL. During the event, we witnessed a technological milestone in Europe: for the first time, four different #USSPs operated simultaneously within the same simulated U-space volume, one already certified and two others in the process of certification. This demonstration also marked a key step in U-space harmonization: an Italian USSP successfully interacted with Spanish USSPs via indirect communication, proving seamless cross-border integration. A decisive step forward towards an operational, safe, and automated U-space. ✈️ ENAV Group participated in Air Cargo Europe 2025 in Munich, one of the most important global events in the air cargo sector. As part of the European U-ELCOME DSD Project, funded by CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency and jointly coordinated with SESAR Joint Undertaking, we had the opportunity to present the activities of the Italian Cluster, coordinated by ENAV, during a dedicated session. 🎯 A special focus was given to the small cargo delivery operations carried out by Techno Sky at Milan Malpensa, within the sandbox coordinated by SEA Milan Airports and enabled by the U-space services provided by D-Flight. ✅ On 30.05.25, Leonardo successfully hosted the Real Time Simulation of Solution 4 – EUREKA project. 🛫 EUREKA (European Key solutions for vertiports and UAM) is a #SESAR3JU project coordinated by #EUROCONTROL, aiming to enable safe and efficient #UrbanAirMobility (UAM) integration into all types of airspace, with a strong focus on vertiport operations. The project also sees the participation of ENAV and Technosky 🎯 Objective: integration of d-flight’s USS & CIS platforms with Urban-V’s Local Vertiport Network Manager to enable advanced Flight Authorization services considering vertiport availability within a network. 👏 Thanks to Edoardo Fornaciari for the valuable contribution!

🔝Castel Campagnano Hosts Key U-ELCOME DSD Project Demonstration on the Future of Drone Integration in Europe Yesterday marked another important milestone for the SESAR Joint Undertaking U-ELCOME with a successful demonstration in Castel Campagnano, led by the Italian cluster under ENAV’s coordination. The ed how U-space services can enable the safe, efficient, and interoperable integration of drones into European airspace, with real-world applications in infrastructure inspection, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Two critical use cases were demonstrated: Cross-Border U-space Coordination Two U-space volumes, managed by D-Flight and ITG Technology Center (Spain), were connected via D-Flight’s Common Information Service Provider (CISP), enabling real-time interoperability—an essential step toward a unified European U-space network. Contingency Management with Manned Aviation A simulated emergency with a manned ultralight aircraft entering U-space highlighted the system’s ability to dynamically reconfigure airspace and maintain safe coordination using e-conspicuity tools. Participants & Technology The demo involved TopView S.r.l. and Telespazio as UAS operators; D-Flight and ITG Technology Center as U-space service providers; and a suite of advanced platforms including DJI M3TD, Mavic 3E, ITG Daliah, and D-Flight’s USS & CIS. Additional support came from Pollicino trackers, ADS-B/FLARM antennas, and acoustic monitoring by CIRA. Beyond validating U-space capabilities, the demonstration also included environmental impact analysis and human performance assessments, underscoring a comprehensive, people-centered approach to airspace integration.
