  • From D.C. to London, Managing Director Elizabeth Jordan has leaned into adventure, collaboration and high-impact work every step of her 10-year journey with #TeamFTI. Learn more below. ⬇️ How has FTI Consulting evolved since you first joined? Liz: The sustained growth of the business over the past 10 years is so impressive. In one of the first EMEA leadership team meetings I joined, we had a session on blue-sky thinking and the business we thought we could one day build. To have helped shape an ambitious growth strategy and now having delivered on many of those milestones is a testament to the caliber of our teams. What motivates you? Liz: Achieving meaningful results, especially when I can see how my work contributes to a larger goal. I enjoy solving high-value and high-stakes problems while collaborating with others to create something better than I could on my own. What is one lesson you had to learn the hard way? Liz: To say yes to an FTI Consulting job offer! I interviewed here for the first time when I was still at university and ultimately went in a different direction. A few years later, I was finishing my MBA and spotted a job posting with the exact type of role that I was looking for in the Strategy and Transformation team as part of the c-suite in Washington, D.C. After interviews and meeting the team, I knew it was the right fit, very happily accepted my offer and haven’t looked back since. What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done? Liz: I consider London home now, but at the time, deciding to move from D.C. solo felt like an adventure. During a project review, I mentioned to my coach that I would be interested in an international secondment if there was ever an opportunity. I think it was barely three weeks later that I was off to London for a month-long project and made the move permanently not long after that.

  • Basketball + algebra = a winning equation. In this spotlight, Managing Director Shannon Traenkenschuh tells us about her experience with Learn Fresh, the NBA Math Hoops Competition and corporate citizenship more broadly. Can you tell us more about the organization, Learn Fresh, and your role on the board? Shannon: Learn Fresh was founded in 2012 by educators who aimed to empower students with essential STEM skills by leveraging their passion for sports and entertainment to inspire leadership, academic growth, and career exploration across industries. They've developed a portfolio of programming through partnerships with the NBA, WNBA, MLB, and MLS to create an intersection between sports and education in a game-based environment. I joined the board this year after someone introduced me to the organization. I was inspired by their approach to encourage math fluency for middle school students and felt there was a place for me to bring my skills and experience to make an impact. Learn Fresh just hosted the NBA Math Hoops Competition. Can you tell us why you were excited to volunteer with FTI Consulting colleagues? Shannon: Students from around the world were hand-selected to travel to NYC to compete in the NBA Math Hoops Global Championship. Along with their families, they experienced a three-day STEM, sports and cultural experience, including attending the NBA draft live and visiting the NBA headquarters. For many of these students, this was an unforgettable experience to reward their hard work. It's been really fun to share that with my FTI Consulting colleagues. Why is board service and corporate citizenship important to you? Shannon: There are so many non-profits that are sustained by the dedication of their board members to bring financial contributions, promotion and exposure to their network. In return, we as board members are enriched through our involvement to give back and learn first-hand about how to operate the business. What do you enjoy doing outside of work and philanthropy/board service? Shannon: I'm currently involved with four non-profits, so a lot of my free time this year is being spent on those efforts. Otherwise, I usually spend my weekends playing golf. #TeamFTI #FTIGivesBack

  • This year marks an incredible milestone for Managing Director Clara Chin, CPA, CFE — 20 years with #TeamFTI! From joining when FTI Consulting was a fraction of its size to witnessing its transformation into a global powerhouse, Clara has not only grown with the firm but also helped to shape its collaborative culture. How has FTI Consulting evolved over the past 20 years? Clara: I joined FTI Consulting when it was a much smaller company, and after 20 years, even though FTI Consulting has grown more than 5x in size, I feel even more connected to my colleagues and we have become more collaborative. There is always someone willing to help, even when you are on holiday in a country 4,000 miles away and you realize you brought the wrong charger for your laptop! What is the most rewarding aspect of your role? Clara: The most rewarding aspect of my role is mentoring junior colleagues. Since I was a child, I’ve always thought about becoming a teacher, and while that is not the career path I chose, FTI Consulting’s culture of supporting and nurturing our junior talent through our mentoring and training programs fulfills my passion for sharing knowledge. What is your top piece of advice for women in consulting? Clara: Don’t hesitate to share ideas and create opportunities for yourself. Do you have a passion or hobby that might surprise people? Clara: I have been at FTI Consulting for 20 years, but I’ve been snowboarding for a decade longer! Whenever I see a snow-capped mountain, I can’t help but immediately think about what it might be like to snowboard down from the peak.
