  • 📌 Since 2023, the EU has observed 15 July as the Annual EU Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis.      At #EMNMigration, we understand that climate change is one the most significant challenges of our times. It is already taking its toll today.     As more and more people are affected by climate change, the need to understand and prepare for climate-related migration has increased.       One key concept in this context is that of an 'environmental migrant,' which our #EMNGlossary defines as:    ❝A person who, for compelling reasons of sudden or progressive changes in the environment that adversely affect their life or living conditions, is obliged to leave their habitual home, or chooses to do so, either temporarily or permanently, and who moves either within their country or across an international border.❞      🤝 Going forward, we will continue to work to provide objective, comparable policy-relevant information on displacement and migration related to the climate crisis.
