About us
At URGO Medical Australia, we are here to heal people. Our vision is to support health care professionals and make a difference in the lives of their patients. By providing evidence-based wound care treatments and support, we aim to take the burden out of wounds in patients to assist in improving their overall quality of life. We have made diabetic foot ulcer a key priority, with the aim to close wounds, save feet and save lives for patients with diabetes and eradicate amputations and death as a consequence of diabetic foot. By partnering with internationally and locally recognised scientific societies and diabetic foot specialists, we have developed a deep understanding of the complexity of diabetic foot ulcer care. We strongly believe that we can make a difference by: - Putting patients at the heart. We give a voice to patients so we can understand their needs and adapt our solutions to better meet those needs. - Being the professional’s partner. We work closely with scientific bodies and we develop educational programs to constantly improve knowledge in advanced wound care. - Leading with Science. We continually invest in R&D and deliver robust clinical evidence because we believe in evidence-based treatments

Why are we focused on autolytic debridement? 🧫🩹 Autolytic debridement is generally considered the most conservative debridement method, which can be facilitated by generalists or specialist clinicians in any care setting following a full holistic assessment. 👩🏽⚕️ #UrgoMedicalAu #UrgoMedical #HealingPeople #Biofilm #Debridement #WoundDressings #internationalConsensus #WoundsInternational

With a range of debridement techniques available, it is important to select the method that is most appropriate and effective for the patient. 👩🏽⚕️❤️🩹 Each debridement method requires varying levels of clinician’s expertise and is best suited based on individual patients and their wound types. 🩹 #UrgoMedicalAu #Biofilm #WoundHealing #HealingPeople #InternationalConsensus

Debridement is a key step in wound bed preparation and an important consideration in all wounds, especially when necrotic tissue, slough or other non-viable tissue is present in the wound bed. 🦠🧫 Debridement can aid wound healing and effectively transforms a chronic wound environment into an acute one, restoring the wound to a normal healing trajectory. 🩹 #UrgoMedicalAu #HealingPeople #WoundCare #Debridement

🌟Australian Wound & Skin Alliance Summer School 2025🌟 We were thrilled to be part of this year’s event at the Novotel in Geelong, where we had the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and exchange ideas with clinicians from across the wound care space. It was amazing to be surrounded by so much expertise and innovation, all focused on improving patient care. A big thank you to the AWSA for creating such a valuable platform for knowledge sharing.
