🤔Did you check out 10-Point Action Plan to End Women’s Economic Exclusion document yet? ➡️If not, you can read it here: https://lnkd.in/eekaPUuQ 🔍 Research shows women are more likely to use financial services when they’re served by women. Yet, the numbers tell a different story. In India, women make up just 22% of bank employees and 12% of microfinance institution staff. 💔This gap not only limits women's access to financial tools — it also hinders innovation. Studies show that companies with more women employees tend to be more innovative, which is vital for creating products that actually meet women’s needs. 💡 Financial service providers have a powerful opportunity: ✅ Hire more women at banks and mobile money agent outlets. ✅ Boost women’s confidence in engaging with formal financial systems. ✅ Drive inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction. #WEPs #FinancialInclusion #GenderEquality #EndPoverty #WomensEconomicEmpowerment Better Than Cash Alliance United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) Women's World Banking The World Bank UNSGSA

Today is World Youth Skills Day! 🌍 This month, as we focus on reducing poverty, we recognize the critical role of skills development for young people—especially young women and girls—in breaking cycles of inequality and driving inclusive economic growth. 💡 When youth have access to quality education, mentorship, and vocational training, they are better equipped to secure decent work, launch businesses, and lead innovation. Yet too often, young women face barriers to these opportunities, from gender stereotypes to lack of investment in their potential. 💼 We call on companies to: 🔹 Invest in education, training, and professional development for women 🔹 Promote gender-sensitive career guidance 🔹 Support young women’s access to STEM and green economy skills Empowering youth with skills isn't just a celebration—it's a strategy to end poverty and build resilient, gender-equal economies. #WorldYouthSkillsDay #WEPs #YouthEmpowerment #PovertyReduction #GenderEquality #SkillsForLife

💼 Higher female labour force participation has the potential to turbocharge economic growth, but access alone is not enough. 🌍 Today, just 61% of prime working-age women are in the labour force, compared to 90.6% of men. 🤔And nearly 60% of women globally work in the informal economy, with that number surging to over 90% in low-income countries. 💔These women often hold precarious, low-paid jobs without social protections — as domestic workers, construction labourers, and seasonal agricultural workers. Companies are joining the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) community to make public commitment to work on: ✔️ Equal pay for work of equal value ✔️ Robust social protections ✔️ Opportunities for skills development and advancement Investing in quality jobs for women isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s a proven strategy for sustainable development. When women thrive, economies grow, families prosper, and communities become more resilient. #GenderEquality #DecentWork #WomenInWorkforce #InclusiveGrowth #WEPs #SocialProtection #WomensEconomicEmpowerment #FutureOfWork

📍 This July, we focus reducing poverty through creating employment opportunities for women — and how the private sector can drive impact by advancing gender equality across the workplace, marketplace, and community through Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) 🎯 Women's economic empowerment is one of the most powerful levers to break intergenerational poverty. When women work, communities invest more in education, health, and resilience. 💔Yet, gender gaps in labor force participation, pay, and access to decent work persist globally. 📊 The Call to Action: ➡️Build inclusive workplaces that offer fair pay and safe conditions ➡️Invest in skills development, training, and entrepreneurship for women ➡️Strengthen care infrastructure to enable women’s workforce participation Design policies that uplift women in both formal and informal economies 🌍 Gender equality isn’t just a goal — it’s a solution. Let’s spotlight pathways that create dignified work, reduce inequality, and build stronger economies for all. #GenderEquality #WEPs #WomensEmployment #DecentWork #PovertyReduction #SDGs #InclusiveGrowth #Beijing30
