Creating scrum and kanban boards
- Another heavily used function in software projects are boards. Let's discuss the difference between Kanban and Scrum board types. A board is a status based view of issues from one or more projects. Users can drag issues between columns, which is the same as transitioning issues to another step in the workflow. Jira has two type of boards: Scrum and Kanban. These terms are from the Agile software development methodology. Scrum boards are for teams that deliver their work and regular fixed intervals called sprints. For example, the dev team might have a sprint that lasts two weeks. Kanban boards are for teams with flexible delivery schedules. Jira projects and users can have multiple boards of either type. The boards look similar, but have different features. When a user visits a Jira project, their default view is often of the board they viewed last.
