“I cannot say enough about how incredible Maren is. I was fortunate enough to have her on my team at Ticketmaster/Live Nation Entertainment. I can say without a doubt that Maren is one of the most talented HR professionals I’ve ever come across. In fact I offered her the job immediately after interviewing her. It was clear to me that a gift just landed in my lap. She is very well-rounded with a strong grasp of Organizational Development, Performance and Talent Management, Employee Relations, Coaching and Counseling, and all that comes with being a seasoned HR Business Partner. She’s incredibly business savvy, easily is able to establish strong rapport, trust and credibility with her clients and teammates, has a strong analytical and metrics-oriented mind, and is truly brilliant coupled with a great sense of humor and personality. She balances professionalism and strength, with a casual, authentic, good-hearted, easy, calm and collect style and manner. Almost immediately, Maren stepped into the role and took on a much broader responsibility on my team in helping organize and rally the team around HR/OD initiatives that had a huge impact on elevating our offerings to the business, the perception of the team, modeling excellence, and making a significant impact at Ticketmaster. Her clients valued her greatly and offered her a seat at the table as a key team and business leader of their respective divisions. Speaking of which, Maren had the ability to support and partner with a broad and large number of clients, projects, and programs. Her consistent success and impact was supported by competencies that seemed to come so natural to her, for instance, strong organizational and communications skills, resourcefulness, an unbelievable work ethic, and her ability to quickly grasp most anything and get people behind her (clients and teammates alike). Maren demonstrated amazing leadership skills, in how she developed junior members on the team, peers, and clients, as well as clear followership and ownership of so much that extended outside her role. The one single regret I have with Maren, is, alas, she left my team for a bigger role at a much bigger global organization. She is absolutely irreplaceable, but she left behind a great legacy in the work she completed and an aspiration amongst the team to pursue continued improvement and greatness. I believe the impact she made had a strong influence for our company’s achievement of a Great Place to Work designation. If I could steal Maren back, I would in a heartbeat. Any company would be beyond fortunate to have her. I have great admiration for Maren. She’s a rare talent, and an overall incredible and amazing human being. ”

Happiness, excellence, and optimal human functioning revisited: Examining the peer-reviewed literature linked to positive psychology
Journal of Positive Psychology
Since the original call by Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi (2000) for a new science of happiness, excellence, and optimal human functioning, there has been an explosion of activity in, acclaim for, and criticism of positive psychology. Since the original call by Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi (2000) for a new science of happiness, excellence, and optimal human functioning, there has been an explosion of activity in, acclaim for, and criticism of positive psychology. The purpose of this study was to identify and examine the peer-reviewed literature linked to the positive psychology movement. An extensive systematic review identified 1336 articles published between 1999 and 2013. More than 750 of these articles included empirical tests of positive psychology theories, principles, and interventions. The results show a fairly consistent increase in the rate of publication, and that the number of empirical studies has grown steadily over the time period. The findings demonstrate that positive psychology is a growing and vibrant sub-area within the broader discipline of psychology, committed to using the same rigorous scientific methods as other sub-areas, in pursuit of understanding well-being, excellence, and optimal human functioning.
