SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers & industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.

About us

SkillsUSA is the #1 workforce development organization for students. We empower students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and responsible community members. A vital solution to the ongoing skills gap, where more highly skilled jobs are available than skilled professionals ready to fill them, SkillsUSA has served more than 14.6 million diverse, difference-making members since 1965. Representing over 413,000 career and technical education students and teachers, SkillsUSA chapters thrive in middle schools, high schools and college/postsecondary institutions nationwide. Our mission is accomplished through the SkillsUSA Framework of Personal Skills, Workplace Skills and Technical Skills Grounded in Academics, which is integrated into classroom curriculum. Through the Framework, SkillsUSA students hone their hands-on skills against current industry standards in more than 130 occupational areas, from 3D Animation to Welding and nearly everything in between. At the same time, they develop the transformative career-readiness skills — teamwork, communication, professionalism, leadership and more — that fuel career and life success. TCU STEM Scholar | Aspiring Engineer | Former SkillsUSA National Region IV Vice President

Earlier this summer, I experienced one of the most inspiring chapters of my life: hosting the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. From the opening session to the final business meeting, the dedication, skill, and spirit of our members left me in awe. In the days leading up to the conference, our national officer team dedicated countless hours to preparation, from script practices and event coordination to participating in the Leverage leadership training program. The teamwork and commitment behind the scenes were truly inspiring. The Opening Session was unforgettable. I was honored to introduce and meet our keynote speaker, Mike Rowe, CEO of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation and host of Dirty Jobs. His message on the dignity of work and the importance of skilled trades left a lasting impression on all attendees. I was also grateful to meet with our Executive Director, Ms. Chelle Travis, along with national staff and members of the Board of Directors, to express our appreciation for their incredible support of our officer team and SkillsUSA members across the nation. During the conference, I connected with talented students across the nation who are not only experts in their trades but also emerging leaders in their communities. I am also incredibly proud of the newly elected national officer team, and I am confident that they will carry the torch forward with passion and purpose. Walking through all 114 leadership, technical, and career education competitions on the TECHSPO floor was awe-inspiring. I also facilitated a tour of this space for attendees of the Workforce Development Summit, showcasing the incredible talent, skill, and dedication of our members. This experience reaffirmed my belief in the power of career and technical education to change lives. To our members, advisors, and industry partners, thank you for trusting me to serve and for making this an unforgettable year. I’m excited to see how these future leaders will continue to impact their communities and industries. #SkillsUSA #Leadership #CareerTechEducation #CTE #FutureLeaders #TechnicalSkills #WorkforceDevelopment #SkillsMatter #StudentLeadership #NLSC2025 #Empowerment #CareerReady
