About us
At the Lowe's Foundation, our mission is focused on closing the skilled trades labor gap across the United States. The Lowe’s Foundation Gable Grants program is a 5-year, $50 million commitment to train 50,000 job-ready skilled tradespeople to build a stronger infrastructure that supports our communities for the long term. 32 out of our 47 Gable Grant recipients have reported that they are supporting second-chance learners. Today we’re celebrating Gable Grant Recipient Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s commitment to second-chance learners and their recent graduation class milestone! Students earned both their high school equivalency diplomas and college credentials, including Commercial & Residential Construction certificates, through a powerful program at MGCCC. 😊 Feeling incredibly grateful to share that I’ve formally joined the Lowe’s Foundation Board! This opportunity means a lot to me—not just because of what it represents, but because of why we do the work. The Lowe’s Foundation is focused on something that really matters: supporting skilled trades and creating new career paths for people in our communities. 🔨 The world needs passionate tradespeople, and we’re committed to helping people across the country build meaningful careers in the trades. It’s real impact—and I’m proud to be part of it. 🙏 Huge thanks to Jana Barresi for introducing me to the Foundation’s work, and to Betsy Conway and the Lowe's Foundation team for getting me plugged in. 💪 Can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and help move the mission forward. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eN-ZAf6W #LowesFoundation #WhyTheTrades #SkilledTrades #CareerPathways #TradesEducation

We asked our Gable Grants recipients what they hope for the future of the skilled trades. Here's what they had to say... #SkilledTrades #LowesFoundation

👏 Big news! Thank you, Marvin Ellison, for stepping up to lead this critical skilled trades initiative. This collaborative effort will deliver resources, training and other tools to help close the workforce gap nationwide.
Skilled trades workers power American industry, yet there’s an imbalance of 20 job openings for every one net new employee. That’s why we’re proud to announce that our Chairman & CEO, Marvin Ellison, is leading the Business Roundtable new #SkilledTrades initiative on strengthening talent pipelines! #LowesLife Lowe's Foundation

What a pleasure it was to hear from LaToya Faustin, CEO of Gable Grant recipient, She Built This City, at #LFBuildingFutures this week. As the leader of a trailblazing nonprofit in North Carolina, Latoya brought a powerful perspective on building pathways for women in skilled trades. We also had the chance to roll up our sleeves to build 647 beds alongside Sleep in Heavenly Peace! There’s no question that the future is being built, and we’re proud to help shape it alongside our vendor partners and Gable Grant recipients. 💪🛠️ #SkilledTrades #LowesFoundation
