As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the experience for both passengers and the wider community, our Adelaide team recently collaborated with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s Rail Care Group on a station beautification project at Noarlunga.   The initiative saw local artists Tayla Carlaw, Catherine Dean, Mike Sanders, and Morris Green create a series of colourful murals depicting local flora and fauna across the station walls, escalator, and amenities block.   These murals contribute to the revitalisation of the station precinct and support broader efforts to improve the amenity and appeal of the Adelaide Metropolitan Passenger Rail Network. Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2025 This year marks a significant milestone as we recognise 50 years since the establishment of the first National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee. We were honoured to welcome Uncle Brendan to Brookvale Depot for a meaningful visit that centred on culture, connection, and reflection with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony. The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” was beautifully embodied by Uncle Brendan through his storytelling and the sounds of the Yidaki. His words reminded us of the vital importance of cultural continuity and the knowledge passed down to future generations. Our team came together over damper and native jams, taking the time to listen, learn, and pay respect. It was a moment of unity and shared understanding. Keolis Secures Full Ownership to Accelerate Strategic Vision We are pleased to announce that Keolis and Downer have signed an agreement for Keolis to acquire 100% ownership of the longstanding Keolis Downer joint venture. The Keolis Group will now become the sole shareholder of our Australian operations, which will be rebranded as Keolis. Building from its extensive local footprint and international experience, the Keolis Group will maintain its close collaboration with Public Transport Authorities across the country to deliver exceptional service and customer experience to local communities. The Keolis Group is committed to investing in the Australian market and will be pursuing development opportunities across Australia. The transaction is expected to be finalised by the end of 2025. We recently farewelled a true legend of the industry – Margaret Pannell, our Senior Bus Operator Trainer – who has retired after nearly 28 years of dedicated service. Over the decades, Marg has played an integral role to Newcastle buses, training thousands of new starters and ensuring generations of drivers were equipped with the skills and support they needed. Many will remember Marg for implementing the "Lefts and Rights" – a simple yet powerful initiative that made a real difference to drivers navigating our roads. Beyond her many operational contributions, Marg brought heart to her work. She helped bring joy to the community through the iconic Christmas Bus, spreading smiles and festive cheer each year. Marg also started the Pink Bus tradition which sees our female staff trade the driver’s seat for a ride on the ‘Pink Bus’ to get their mammograms. Now, Marg is closing this incredible chapter and heading off on a new adventure – a well-deserved European cruise. We thank Marg for her passion, wisdom, heart and friendship. She has made a difference to so many, leaves behind not just a list of accomplishments, but a legacy of care, excellence, and community. Our CEO Leila Frances recently participated in an insightful panel discussion at the Public Transport Association Australia New Zealand (PTAANZ) Symposium in Melbourne on the subject 'Putting the Customer First: Understanding the Community and their Mobility choices'.   Leila spoke to how passenger experience lies at the heart of our strategy, as a multi modal public operator across Australia, with a long-term commitment to the Australian industry, and how our founding principle of 'think like a passenger' comes to life through our co-construction approach to service design and Keolis Signature Service (KSS) program.   Leila also shared Keolis global expertise with harnessing data on passenger flows and expectations as well as predictive maintenance to ensure reliability and comfort of our transport services. Our Keolis Downer Adelaide team was kept busy over the Easter long weekend, when they carried out important upgrades and maintenance works across the Adelaide Metro Seaford, Flinders, and Belair rail lines.   A substantial package of work was undertaken, including signalling and track works, upgrades and repairs, and the replacement of security cameras at several stations.   These works, undertaken for the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, improved the safety, functionality, and comfort of the network for Adelaide Metro passengers.   Captured below is the team working day and night, to remove and install new turnouts which involved 50 + welds, tamping, and the renewal of new points machines. #AdelaideTransport #publictransport #rail #infrastructure #KeolisDowner #thinklikeapassenger

Congratulations to Bella Leaupepe, South East Queensland Bus Driver of the Year for 2024!   We are incredibly proud that Bella, an integral member of our team at Keolis Downer Hornibrook Bus operation in Brisbane, has been awarded the prestigious Translink Driver of the Year - South East Queensland for 2024.   Over 1,300 bus drivers were nominated in the Translink Awards, with Bella being shortlisted as a top 3 finalist.
