Non-profit Organization Management

Towards supporting the underprivileged, creating opportunities, and striving towards a more equitable society.

About us

Since 1996, Infosys Foundation has been trying to make communities and individuals stand on their feet. From helping communities affected by natural disasters, constructing toilets and building libraries for village schools, providing succor to Devadasi women, to donating funds for cancer treatment, scientific research and mid-day meals – if there is a worthy cause in sight, the Foundation is always there to support it. We take great pride in working with all sections of society, selecting projects with infinite care, and working in areas that traditionally overlooked by society at large. With a focus on the most remote regions of India, our initiatives span the areas of education, healthcare, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability, amongst others.

  • Clothing provides dignity, warmth, and protection – an everyday essential that many underprivileged individuals and families struggle to access. Our Infosys Kolkata CSR group, Dishari, is committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of circumstance, can live with dignity. To support this mission, the team organized a clothes donation drive, collecting over 1K items from more than 250 employees. This initiative not only promotes sustainability but also fosters community care. Partnering with an NGO, Swadhin Prayas, each garment was carefully cleaned, ironed, and distributed to beneficiaries at Girija School, Santragachi, reaching over 1,200 people. This effort stands as a powerful reminder of how a simple drive can transform lives – turning used clothes into renewed hope. Through #InfosysFoundation and our volunteers, we have reaffirmed our shared responsibility to uplift those in need. #InfosysCSR | #Volunteering | #Sustainability | #CommunityImpact | #ClothDonationDrive

  • Education is the key to a brighter tomorrow, yet countless underprivileged children still lack the basic supplies to pursue their dreams. To change this, the Infosys Thiruvananthapuram CSR group, Sanjeevani, launched the Chiraag Student Sponsorship Program. Through this volunteering drive, 593 students received school kits - just in time for the new academic year. Each kit, filled with notebooks, stationery, and bags, gave these young learners the tools and confidence to step into school with hope and pride. This initiative ignited a spark of motivation in students, enriching their learning journey and reminding us all that a small act of kindness can transform a life forever. #InfosysFoundation and its volunteers remain deeply committed to nurturing young minds, knowing that when we invest in a child’s education, we invest in the future of our entire community. #InfosysCSR | #Education | #CommunityImpact | #Volunteering

  • Across the globe, the shift towards renewable energy is accelerating as individuals and organizations reduce fossil fuel reliance. This Global Energy Independence Day, #InfosysFoundation aims to accelerate this movement in India through a partnership with BMRCL Namma Metro.   The Foundation is helping build the Infosys Foundation Electronic City Station in Bengaluru powered by solar panels with a capacity of 678 KW on the station’s roof, generating approximately 2,440 units of power daily - more than double the station’s operational needs of 1,000 units. The surplus energy will be supplied to Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) for operational purposes.   By integrating renewable energy systems like this, Infosys Foundation reinforces its commitment of environmental preservation for future generations.   #InfosysCSR | #EnvironmentalSustainability | #GlobalEnergyIndependenceDay

  • When Bharati Das lost her father, her family’s future seemed uncertain. With only a class 8 certificate and no employable skills, Bharati faced the daunting reality of unemployment - a challenge shared by millions of Indians, as just 51.25% of graduates are considered employable, according to the Economic Survey 2023–24. CIPET (Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology) is dedicated to unlocking the potential of youth across India. The institute actively reaches out to unemployed youth at panchayat-level job fairs, education melas, and alumni interactions especially in rural and remote areas, offering counseling and encouragement to pursue skill training. Recognizing the critical need for upskilling, #InfosysFoundation partnered with CIPET in 2015. Through the efforts of Infosys Bhubaneswar’s CSR group, Akanksha, a free residential technical training program was launched in 2016–17. The results speak volumes - of the 240 students trained, 214 secured employment in manufacturing companies. Additionally, underserved youth are provided with training in plastic processing, tool room operations, quality control, and more, with employment as the end goal. Skilling youth not only catalyzes individual growth but uplifts families and entire communities, paving the path for a brighter future. Share this inspiring story to educate the youth about the importance of employable skills. #InfosysCSR | #Education | #TalesOfHope| #Upskilling | #Employability

  • Empowering young minds with essential health knowledge is crucial, as every child deserves the tools to lead a healthy life. Unfortunately, many students in underserved communities lack access to basic health and nutrition education, limiting their opportunity to understand and practice healthy habits. To address this, Spoorthi, our Hubli CSR group, partnered with the NGO ‘Connect For’ to empower government school students with vital knowledge about vitamins and their role in staying healthy. As part of this initiative, our volunteers designed and delivered over 140 educational vitamin charts to more than 20 government schools, reaching over 100 students across the Hubli-Dharwad districts in Karnataka. For many of these students, programs like these provide their first real exposure to health awareness. Each chart represents a step toward a healthier future, and our volunteers are proud to have made this an annual tradition. They ensured to create and distribute these resources to the schools where they are needed most. Together, #InfosysFoundation and our volunteers aim to foster a healthier, better-informed generation. • Many communities in India still lack access to quality maternal and infant healthcare. Recognizing the urgent need among underprivileged communities, #InfosysFoundation partnered with Prashanthi Balamandira Trust (PBMT) to support Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka. Through two grants, the hospital enhanced its capacity to provide free maternal deliveries, pediatric and cath lab procedures, and gynecological surgeries to thousands of women and infants annually. The funding helped cover operational expenses and procure advanced medical equipment, including Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), diagnostic radiology, and Operation Theatre (OT) facilities, strengthening specialty care for vulnerable rural populations. This collaboration exemplifies a shared commitment to reducing maternal and infant mortality and improving healthcare access for marginalized communities.
