Last week, the Business for Nature team took part in our first-ever Nature Wellbeing Day – a day to pause, step away from our screens and reconnect with nature. From a plantain farm in Ghana to the Singapore Botanic Gardens, from high up in the Swiss Alps to the Pembrokeshire coast, our team spent the day outdoors with nature. It was a simple but valuable reminder that nature is not just a cause we advocate for – it plays a real role in our wellbeing and day-to-day lives. Take a look to see how we each spent the day. We hope you're getting a chance to spend some time in nature too - even a few minutes outside can make a difference! #NaturePositive #Wellbeing #TeamCulture #NatureIsEveryonesBusiness

📣 Episode 7 of The NATURE PLEDGE podcast is out! 📣 🎧 “Retreat or Renewal? Shifting our Approach to Business on Nature” 🎧 Businesses and banks are leaving net-zero alliances and governments are walking back sustainability reporting requirements. Are we in a "sustainability recession"? In this episode of the Nature Pledge, we speak to Eva Zabey, CEO of Business for Nature, about the sudden change in circumstances and how the Asia Pacific business community might be reacting. Eva challenges us to think of this period as an exciting opportunity to take stock, reset and consider changes in our approach to business and finance. She offers a pathway forward and concludes with an inspired view of the value, economic and, policy and practice shifts necessary to reach our nature-positive future. Join us for a discussion where we ask Eva: 📉 If we are in a “sustainability recession,” how do we get out of it? 💬 Have we overcomplicated the language that we use in our approach to business stakeholders on nature? Do we need to change our approach? 🥁 Should we stop pushing for mandatory nature-based financial disclosures or deemphasize their importance? 💸 In the current environment, is it better to stress investment opportunities over risks and dangers? More boom, less gloom? 🌲 What is a nature strategy? A nature strategy is a forward-looking roadmap that describes what your company intends to do to address its relationship with nature. It’s a real opportunity for businesses to put nature at the heart of their decisions, in how they operate and manage their supply chains. By developing and sharing a nature strategy that follows guidance in the Nature Strategy Handbook, businesses can reduce negative impacts on nature, boost resilience to nature risks, access new commercial opportunities and create long-term value. 👀 In case you missed it - the key messages that came out of the Business and Nature webinar, hosted by FT Executive Programmes and InTent. Our CEO Eva Zabey joined André Hoffmann (Founder, InTent), Marcelo Medeiros (Founder and Chair, re.green and Lanx Capital Investimentos) and Santiago Gowland (CEO, Rainforest Alliance) for an insightful conversation on humanity’s reliance on the natural world. Ideas that stood out: 💡 All of the world’s GDP - and all of the world’s supply chains - are reliant on nature and its resources 💡 Businesses have embraced climate agendas, but they must go hand-in-hand with nature to have real impact 💡 Providing businesses with the right measures and frameworks helps them make the best decisions for nature See more, nicely summarized in the cartoon below 💡👇 #NaturePositive #NatureIsEveryonesBusiness

🌍 No time to waste: Businesses are calling for a global plastics treaty with harmonized regulations. That’s the clear message from Business For A Plastics Treaty. In a joint letter, over 290 companies urge negotiators to adopt strong, unified rules in the upcoming treaty talks. Here’s why harmonized regulations matter: 👉 They drive consistency across borders while supporting national ambitions 👉 They provide the lowest cost option to effectively address plastic pollution Voluntary efforts fall short. Disjointed regulations drive up costs and add complexity, without delivering real impact. Businesses want to scale circular solutions, but they need clear, global frameworks to make bold investments. The momentum for change is growing and it’s critical to lay the groundwork for future action to tackle plastic pollution. Let’s turn it into action on plastics around the world. 📄 Read the full letter: https://lnkd.in/eVRjVmSm Ellen MacArthur Foundation #NaturePositive #NoTimeToWaste

Our biggest takeaway from London Climate Action Week? 🌍 Nature isn’t just part of the climate solution - it’s THE solution! Here’s what else stood out for us, and what business leaders should consider: 📢 Policy is paramount: Business leaders are united in their call for clear and consistent government policies. This is essential to accelerate corporate action and de-risk investment for nature. 🤝 Ambition must be aligned: For maximum impact, business action must align with national climate goals (NDCs) and biodiversity plans (NBSAPs). Collaboration is the only way forward. 💡 Nature is tangible: The results of restoring a wetland or forest are often more immediate and visible than carbon reduction, making nature a powerful and relatable investment. 💰 The finance gap is also an understanding gap: While finance for nature was a major theme, many investors still lack a deep understanding of which nature-related risks and opportunities are material to their portfolios. The good news is that 99% of institutional investors in five major markets are planning to boost nature-related investment allocation. 🌱🌥️ The nature-climate nexus is critical: Businesses must integrate nature into their climate decision-making, reporting and advocacy. This includes championing nature-based solutions to increase resilience. LCAW made one thing clear: the conversation on nature is maturing and evolving. Now is the time for bold collaboration between business and government to build a nature-positive future. A huge thank you to the many organizations that hosted a variety of excellent nature-related events! We’re excited to keep this momentum going at New York Climate Week and #COP30 in Brazil later this year. Let’s keep the conversation and action moving forward. #LCAW2025 #ClimateAction #BusinessLeadership #NaturePositive #NatureIsEveryonesBusiness
