About us

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one. Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world. Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind. You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.

Introducing Kiro, an all-new agentic IDE that has a chance to transform how developers build software. Let me highlight three key innovations that make Kiro special: 1 - Kiro introduces spec-driven development, helping developers express their intent clearly through natural language specifications and architecture diagrams for complex features. This comprehensive context helps Kiro’s AI agents deliver better results with fewer iterations. 2 - Kiro features intelligent agent hooks that automatically handle critical but time-consuming tasks like generating documentation, writing tests, and optimizing performance. These hooks work in the background, triggered by events like saving files or making commits. It’s like having an experienced developer constantly reviewing your work and handling the maintenance tasks that often get delayed. 3 - Kiro provides a purpose-built interface that adapts to how developers work. Whether you prefer chat interactions or working with specifications, Kiro supports your workflow while keeping you in control of the development process. Kiro is really good at "vibe coding" but goes well beyond that. While other AI coding assistants might help you prototype quickly, Kiro helps you take those prototypes all the way to production by following a mature, structured development process out of the box. This means developers can spend less time on boilerplate code and more time where it matters most – innovating and building solutions that customers will love. Starting today, Kiro is available for free during preview and supports most popular programming languages. Here’s how to get started with Kiro today: https://lnkd.in/eWyiB_kY Excited to see how developers use Kiro, and to work with the developer community to continue to shape Kiro moving forward.

Amazonians from across multiple states are repurposing our fast logistics and technology to assist first responders and local nonprofits on the front lines of relief for flood-impacted communities in central Texas. To date, we've delivered more than 67,000 essential items, including fuel, diapers, food, water, and baby formula. Amazon's Richard Rocha, who lives in Texas, visited Kerrville, on Friday to meet Amazonians who were pitching in and sorting essential supplies.

Living less than an hour from the devastated Central Texas flood zone, I've witnessed firsthand the emotional impact of this disaster on our communities. Thankfully everyone is mobilizing to help, and at Amazon, we approached this challenge the way we serve our customers—by working backwards from the need. We asked: How can we apply our logistics expertise to deliver the right help at the right time? We partnered with the Kerrville Chamber of Commerce to establish a dynamic distribution center that functions like our fulfillment network—enabling relief organizations to access precisely what they need, when they need it. Understanding that needs evolve throughout disaster recovery, we're staying deeply connected with local partners, ready to pivot our approach. By leveraging our logistics capabilities and supply chain expertise, we're demonstrating how we can best support our communities when innovation in delivery truly matters most. #amazon #togetherwithamazon

When faced with transformative technology like AI, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy sees two paths companies can take: lean in and use it to create better customer experiences OR wish it away, and end up chasing it. Spoiler: Amazon is leaning in. On a recent episode of Mad Money with Jim Cramer, he unpacks how AI will help teammates invent better customer experiences much more quickly.
