When a team member repeatedly misses deadlines, I first try to understand why it’s happening. I would have a private conversation with them to see if there are any obstacles, whether it’s workload, personal issues, or a lack of clarity on the project. If needed, we’d adjust the deadlines or break the tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. Clear communication is key, so I’d make sure expectations are set upfront and check in regularly to ensure the project stays on track. If the issue persists, I’d explore more structured solutions like additional support or reassigning tasks, but I always try to be supportive and solution-focused first

Make it a challege! There is no other way around, find that trick that lead to accomplish the desired goal... When you take work as a play you can find a way to move that person, so... it's a challenge! Who will move the next step? Who is going to win? Like when you are playing and making a bet! Boom! You have that adrenaline going... flush on your face for that red blood that your veins take! Same... yes need to set all the LinkedIn suggestions, but like when you are in soccer in finals this will lead the adrenaline going and the "player will move" ;)

We’re in the information distribution business, as such my first priority is always the clarity of the information. Does everyone understand it? If not it’s my responsibility to make sure they do. If the information isn’t the issue then go to the individual I have no one single answer to that problem, but in my experience it’s usually about context so I work with the individual to help them get back on track If it repeats I play by baseball rules 3 strikes and you’re out Everyone gets a mulligan on the first pass Then come the warnings I’m not ruthless, but my name is usually attached to the project and my word is my bond. If an individual is dragging a project down and can’t be set straight I’d move them off the project. Necessity

Managing a team member who consistently misses deadlines requires a mix of understanding and accountability. Start with a one-on-one conversation to identify the root cause—whether it's workload, unclear expectations, or personal challenges. Offer support, such as redistributing tasks or providing training, if needed. Set clear deadlines, break tasks into smaller milestones, and use project management tools to track progress. Regular check-ins can help keep them on track. If the issue persists, provide constructive feedback and discuss consequences to ensure accountability while maintaining a supportive environment.

Hi! I suggest sitting down together to create a stacked or block-style calendar, outlining what needs to be achieved each day. Plan this in two-week increments, with each day broken into specific time blocks. For example, dedicate one hour to emails, two hours to design work, followed by a break, then schedule time for meetings, discussions, or team feedback. By breaking down the daily schedule collaboratively with the design team, everyone feels more empowered. They’ve had input in shaping the plan, and the clear structure keeps everyone accountable. 🥳
