  • This week, cast members across EMEA had the chance to hear from Lee Jury, SVP Studio Marketing, Live Events and Music EMEA and Nick R., SVP Studio Distribution EMEA, in a conversation from our London HQ. Hosted by Tony Chambers, President of The Walt Disney Company, EMEA, the session was streamed to cast members across the region, offering a look inside our theatrical distribution and marketing, along with insights into their personal career journeys and what drives Disney’s continued global success.   Nick reflected on his path from junior accountant to senior leadership: "The big change in my career came when I was given the chance to move out of finance into a commercial role. It was a learning curve and helped fast-track my experience." Lee explained how his early passion for film shaped a career across sales and marketing, noting: “Disney is more than entertainment - it’s like a family tradition."   They also spoke about Disney’s sustained leadership at the global box office, having ranked number one in eight of the last nine years. And it goes far beyond the box office: “Lilo & Stitch is the perfect example,” said Nick. “It’s not just a film – it’s parks, consumer products, video games, and more. That flywheel effect is what makes us unique”.   Looking ahead, they teased our exciting upcoming film slate, including Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, and reflected on the emotional and cultural impact of Disney storytelling. "Collaboration is at the core of everything we do,” said Lee. “Whether it’s with Disney+, Marvel, or Lucasfilm, success comes from deeply understanding each other’s business and building together."   #LifeAtDisney #MyDisneyStory #DisneyCastLife #DisneyStudios

  • Congratulations to the winners and finalists of the 16th annual #Childnet Film Competition! The theme this year challenged students aged 7–18 to create short films on how they can support each other against online scams.   The event was hosted at Disney’s London office, bringing together young filmmakers to celebrate creativity and online safety. We’re pleased to have supported Childnet International over many years in their mission to empower young people to navigate the digital world safely and confidently.   Sandown School in Hastings came first in the Primary category of 7-11 year old entrants, with their film “Stop, Think…”. Based around a news story, this film follows a group of Digital Leaders with a mission to stop others from being scammed online. Finalists in the Primary category also include Sir Donald Bailey Academy and North Allerdale Development Trust.   St Peter’s Catholic School in Guildford placed first in the Secondary category of 11-18 year old entrants, with their film “This is not your fault”. This film shows the emotional impact of a scam through powerful music and camera shots. Finalists in the Secondary category also include Wolverhampton Girls’ High School and Milton Abbey School.   Judges included Charlotte Tudor, Vice President, Marketing, Disney & Animation, Walt Disney Studios UK & EMEA, who said: “The Childnet Film Competition shows how powerful young voices can be and reminds us that storytelling can help us all see the world in new ways. At Disney, we’re committed to supporting initiatives that help create a more positive and secure digital world, and the finalists do an excellent job of educating and empowering their peers to better protect themselves online.”   Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e88Dn7_3   #OnlineSafety #SaferInternet Deborah Armstrong

  • The Disney+ team brought the cool to the London office yesterday with an #icecream pop-up, and it was the perfect way to beat the heat. In under two hours, 400 ice creams were gone!   Inspired by hit Disney+ shows including The Simpsons, FX’s Alien: Earth and FX’s The Bear, and Only Murders in the Building, each flavour was fresh from the Taste of London festival and a hit with cast members. Big thanks to everyone who joined us and to Disney+ for keeping things cool in the most delicious way. The pop-up served as the start of the Disney+ summer campaign in the UK which launched this week, showcasing a lifetime of great stories!   #DisneyPlusUK #TheBearFX #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding #TheSimpsons #AlienEarth #SummerCampaign #MyDisneyStory
