Last year, Alicia Szeto, production assistant in the ESPN NEXT program, was looking for the next step in her professional career. This drive for development led her to attend AAJA, where she went to panels and sessions and eventually connected with an ESPN recruiter. Now, after a year with ESPN, she says she hasn’t just shaped sports stories - they’ve shaped her too. We asked her about her own story and what she would share with those attending the conference this year. http://di.sn/60454CbbR

🎾 There’s nothing quite like experiencing Wimbledon for the first time. This year, ESPN reporters Kris Budden and Jeff Darlington are doing just that, bringing fresh eyes and storytelling depth to one of the most iconic venues in sports. #NAHJ2025 starts today in Chicago! Manny de la Fe, VP, Production ESPN Global Event & Studio Production and executive sponsor for this year's conference, is looking forward to the next few days of connection. "I decided to be an Executive Champion this year because of the importance of representing ESPN and talking to possible candidates about our company, and my experience is something I truly enjoy and makes me proud of the work that we do. I recognize the value of my voice, and this is an opportunity to encourage others to use their voice and talents to progress in this industry. My advice to those attending the conference is don’t be shy, ask questions, be engaged in sessions, make authentic connections and then follow up on those connections. The conference is a great place to seek advice from industry leaders and keep up that contact beyond the conference." If you're at the conference, don't miss connecting with us at booth #300 or the ESPN-sponsored panels!

For Diestefano Loma, the goal was always to work at ESPN, and after attending NAHJ last year where he connected with recruiters and employees, he accomplished that goal! 👏 Now a production assistant with the ESPN NEXT program, Loma told us why he thinks ESPN attending the conference is important. "ESPN attending conferences like NAHJ is a wonderful thing because of the importance of relationship building and the opportunity for different cultures and identities to be represented at the company. There are many talented journalists of all walks of life with unique perspectives at these conferences. By bringing ESPN representatives, it ensures accessibility for them to learn of different career opportunities while exchanging ideas and a shared love for sports…. It offers windows and mirrors for the younger generation to feel represented and encouraged to continue fostering an inclusive environment." Will we see YOU at #NAHJ25 this year? 👀
