A couple of weeks ago, the MX3D team traded robots for rigs and hit the beach for a landsailing session. A bit of wind, a lot of sand, and some well-earned competition — the perfect way to recharge and connect outside the factory floor. As we scale up our operations, it’s good to remember it’s the people behind the technology that make it all happen. From launching new robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (#WAAM) systems to produce critical on-demand parts, and occasionally racing each other across the coastline, we move as a team. Great energy, great company. Here’s to the next one. #MX3D #Teamwork #ScalingUp #Metal3DPrinting #WAAM #IndustrialInnovation #DED #arcDED

MX3D | Industrial 3D metal printing | Robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM)
Over ons
Develops and creates robotic 3D metal printing technology. We are a company that does what it promises, and we promise a lot! Our Moonshot project the MX3D Bridge, a stainless steel / fully functional / 12 meter long / bicycle & pedestrian / bridge for the city center of Amsterdam, finalized on 20 October 2018. Our ambition is to create a tool that allows industry leaders, innovators and professionals to realize new designs at scale in metal. We strongly believe in creation by doing, failing and trying again. We create innovative objects we ourselves would like to have. We use art and research projects to test the limits of our technology, Robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (3D printing with MIG welding robots). We therefor naturally have a need to create our own tools and software. Our basic technology is now used by Industrial Corporates that are interested in introducing this technology into there workflow. We believe there is more to life than work alone. By prioritizing, we focus on whats important and keep time free for family, friends, sports and fun.

We're proud to support the next generation of Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing #WAAM engineers at Imperial College London. Providing the science behind 3D printed metal structures for almost a decade now. The Imperial College team has recently unveiled a 3D-printed metal bridge, designed, developed, and printed with robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) by MX3D, as part of the #GreatExhibitionRoadFestival and the PIONEER Project, supported by Shimizu Corporation. This bridge is inspired by the MX3D Bridge, the very first concept revealed in 2015 designed by Joris Laarman Lab. Great to see it come to life!! More than just a striking structure, this bridge represents the hands-on learning and boundary-pushing research that’s shaping the future of large-scale additive manufacturing (#LFAM). Projects like these are why we believe in sharing our technology with leading universities. It's not just about showcasing what’s possible today — it’s about equipping future engineers to take it even further tomorrow. Tomorrow, our colleague Kévin Affari, #IWE will take the stage at STIRWELD's Alu&Tech Conference to dive into a topic we’re passionate about: printing aluminium with robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (#WAAM). Kevin will present how MX3D’s robotic WAAM systems handle various aluminium alloys (2000 / 5000 / 6000 series), what it takes to achieve high-quality results, and where this opens new opportunities for industrial applications. We use aluminum alloys for #Automotive, #Space and #Energy applications. From lightweight structures to on-demand part production — aluminium WAAM is scaling up fast. If you’re attending the Alu&Tech conference, don’t miss Kevin’s presentation. And if you’re curious about how we work with aluminium in WAAM, feel free to reach out. See you there. See below for the conference info. #MX3D #WAAM #AluTech2025 #Metal3DPrinting #AdditiveManufacturing #DED #arcDED #DirectedEnergyDeposition #AluminiumManufacturing
