La Fondation Restena a comme mission principale l'interconnexion et la mise à disposition de services aux organisations actives dans la recherche et l'éducation, la santé, la culture ou l'administration au Luxembourg. À ce titre, elle fournit à sa communauté des services réseau et sécurité incontournables en soutien aux ambitions du Luxembourg pour les besoins de la recherche et de l’éducation. Elle gère et développe une infrastructure réseau nationale dédiée connectant plus de 500 organisations avec des débits allant jusqu'à 100Gbps. Elle leur met aussi à disposition une équipe de réponse aux incidents informatiques (Computer Security Incident Response Team – CSIRT) ainsi que des services connexes de type système de noms de domaine (Domain Name System - DNS), email, hébergement de machines physiques et virtuelles ou de sites web. La Fondation Restena accompagne également les acteurs luxembourgeois de la recherche et de l’éducation en tant que centre d’excellence dans la réalisation de ses divers projets. Ainsi, sa communauté bénéficie, notamment, d’un accès à Internet dans les enceintes d'institutions scientifiques à travers le monde grâce au projet eduroam. Plus largement, la Fondation Restena opère deux infrastructures nationales essentielles. D’une part, elle a à sa charge l’infrastructure d’enregistrement des noms de domaines sous la racine nationale du Luxembourg (.LU) comptant plus de 100 000 noms de domaines enregistrés (dns.lu). D’autre part, elle gère la majeure partie des opérations techniques de la plate-forme d’échange de trafic Internet (Luxembourg Commercial Internet exchange – LU-CIX) qui offre une infrastructure robuste et rapide permettant aux fournisseurs de services sur Internet d'échanger des données directement entre leurs réseaux tout en profitant des fournisseurs de contenus et opérateurs internationaux présents au Luxembourg.

A partner of the Lycée Guillaume Kroll and its BTS cloud computing and BTS cybersecurity courses regularly involved in the training of future professionals, the Fondation Restena had the chance to hire several graduates in the past... and most of them are still part of the Restena workforce today.🥰 👏 Congratulations to all the newly graduates of the BTS cloud computing, cybersecurity and communication technologies.

In the span of just one week, a part of the Restena team descended from the Blast Furnace in Belval with the zipe line during the Fête des Hauts Fourneaux and another part ran through the streets of Luxembourg city to celebrate diversity and inclusion 🌈 . 🙌 Well done everyone! And sure, a huge thanks to Le Fonds Belval and Luxembourg Pride Run for organizing those challenging events!

🚫 🛜 Inappropriate or even dangerous content is no longer accessible from the educational networks of Luxembourg secondary schools since early June 2025. ▶️ This measure protecting pupils from malicious content proliferating on the web was made possible by the installation of the DNS firewall developed by Fondation Restena and adapted to the Centre de Gestion Informatique de l’Éducation (CGIE) criteria for the benefit of the school community. ℹ️ https://lnkd.in/eEgcjUE6
