ESCHDORF, LUXEMBOURG RUBBER FLOORING KAYAR The project includes a primary school for cycles 1 to 4, a day care center for up to 360 children, a music school, a triple sports hall, a central kitchen, and various additional spaces. All of this is complemented by extensive outdoor facilities located on a gently sloping site, in the heart of a green landscape between the villages of Eschdorf and Heiderscheid, in northern Luxembourg. Color is present in several places (slats on the facade, railings, posts in the courtyard) and combines with more neutral elements. A sustainable and eco-responsible approach is also developed: untreated wood facade, green roof, photovoltaic panels, skylights, heat pump… The natural spaces accompany the children who benefit from an awareness of climate issues. STAM at Tech 4 Food 2025: innovation and cross-sector synergies from space to table STAM was glad to attend Tech 4 Food 2025 in #Padua, a forward-looking event organized by inovaLab at the premises of SMACT Competence Center, the national Competence Center focused on the agrifood sector. A great opportunity to explore how advanced technologies are shaping the future of food, in #space and on Earth. We were especially inspired by Chef Stefano Polato’s presentation on food for astronauts, which highlighted the challenges and evolution of space nutrition, bringing Italian culinary excellence into orbit. The session on electro-heating technologies was equally insightful, showing how innovation is redefining cooking on Earth. Prof. Fabrizio Dughiero and the inovaLab team highlighted how #electroheat technologies, when applied with a #datadriven approach, can make food processes more sustainable, precise, and energy-efficient. This expertise is also key in the space industry, enabling cross-sector #innovation and impact as demonstrated by the recent space #technologytransfer with Artigo S.p.a. We also appreciated practical insights from Claudio Ferrari, Technology Insight & Scouting Expert, Tetra Pak; Prof. Maurizio Faccio, Università degli Studi di Padova; Claudio Mazzon, Technology & Microwave Modules Manager, Electrolux Group and Stefano Campolongo, R&D and Concept Manager, Avolta. The networking lunch and the following working sessions offered a valuable opportunity for needs scoping and brainstorming with companies and innovators across the entire value chain. Für den gemeinsamen Messeauftritt von murfloor und Artigo haben wir ein Konzept entwickelt, das die nachhaltige Kautschukbodenlinie GAIA klar in den Fokus rückt – ohne dabei Murfloors Rolle als Vertriebspartner zu schmälern. Die Lösung: ein Standdesign, das mit minimalen Mitteln maximale Wirkung erzielt. «Der nachhaltige Gummiboden» wurde zur reduzierten Leitbotschaft. Der Boden selbst – als Rasenteppich inszeniert – sprach für sich: Design trifft Verantwortung. Architektur trifft Haltung. During the SOLINDARITY project’s Steering Committee meeting in Genoa, partners had the opportunity to visit the Artigo S.p.a facilities in Cairo Montenotte. ARTIGO hosts one of the project's three demo sites, where a high-temperature heat pump will be tested to heat diathermic oil used in the vulcanisation process. This system will harness energy from a solar thermal plant and recover heat from the flue gases of the existing boilers. ARTIGO specialises in the production and commercialisation of high-performance flooring solutions, ideal for schools, hospitals, public buildings, and other types of locations. Negli ultimi mesi abbiamo avuto il piacere di accogliere diversi studi di architettura per una visita tecnica presso la nuova Clinica dell’Ospedale San Maurizio di Bolzano. ( Südtiroler Sanitätsbetrieb - Azienda Sanitaria dell'Alto Adige) Durante i sopralluoghi, è stato possibile approfondire da vicino le soluzioni tecniche Artigo sviluppate specificamente per l’ambito sanitario, in particolare le nostre pavimentazioni in gomma pensate per garantire igiene, durabilità e prestazioni elevate in ambienti ospedalieri ad alta intensità di utilizzo.
