THE MAISON’S COMMITMENT At a Parisian middle school in a priority education zone impacted by noise, air and visual pollution, an educational micro-forest was designed by Francis Kurkdjian, Reforest’Action and members of faculty. The perfumer selected trees and shrubs known for their aromatic properties, such as lilac, magnolia and linden, which were then planted by the students. Artistic creation thus becomes a force for positive change. Le parfumeur a sélectionné des arbres et arbustes reconnus pour leurs propriétés odorantes comme le lilas, le magnolia et le tilleul, qui ont ensuite été plantés par les élèves du collège. Founded by oceanographer François Sarano, this non-profit organization is sponsored by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. A commitment to the study and preservation of sperm whales in the Mediterranean Sea, from which ambergris, a rare and precious raw material used in perfumery, is derived.
