Malteser International and the Sovereign Order of Malta strongly condemn this morning’s attack on the Holy Family Catholic parish in Gaza — a refuge for displaced civilians and a hub for humanitarian aid. Two people have been killed. We stand in full solidarity with Fr. Gabriel Romanelli, the parish priest, all those injured, and the families and loved ones mourning their loss. Attacks on civilians and places of worship are unacceptable violations of international humanitarian law. Together with the Order of Malta and in collaboration with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, we’ve delivered 200 tonnes of food to support over 25,000 people since May last year. A new health care centre is also in planning. We remain committed to protecting life and dignity in Gaza. 🕊️ 🔗 Read more in our latest press release: https://lnkd.in/ejN7KFNa #Gaza #HumanitarianAid #OrderofMalta #LatinPatriarchateOfJerusalem #MalteserInternational

Our Country Coordinator Amandine Desaunay reports from Uganda on the devastating impact of global funding cuts on people living in the refugee settlements: “We witness in our projects: long-term planning is no longer possible for refugees. People are now focused on daily survival. Where we were recently still providing transitional assistance, we are now facing a full-blown humanitarian crisis.” ➡️ Around 1 million refugees receive no food support anymore. ➡️ Malnutrition is worsening among children and pregnant or breastfeeding women. ➡️ Health services are under immense strain – supplies are depleted, staff reduced. ➡️ Clean water and sanitation are becoming urgent needs again. ➡️ Many people can hardly keep their small businesses running, as every shilling earned is spent immediately for daily survival. We must not look away. The time to act is now. Your donation helps: https://lnkd.in/guy4nv8X #MalteserInternational #HumanitarianAid #Uganda #Refugees #EmergencyRelief #Solidarity

Susan Awate, 49, fled conflict in South Sudan and found refuge in Uganda’s Rhino Camp. With no prior business experience, she joined our training program, supported by Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), which equipped her with essential skills in sales, record keeping, and profit management. Today, Susan proudly runs her own market stall, supporting her eight children’s education and dreaming of expanding her business. “Before the training, I had no business knowledge. Now, I can manage profits and pay school fees,” she shares. With little prospect of returning to South Sudan, she channels her ambition into building a stable future for herself and her children here in Uganda. 💬 “I never want to go back to Yei,” she says. “Even people who are there want to come here. Here, we have peace.” Susan is just one of more than 100 refugees who have received training in small business development from us since 2022. #MalteserInternational #WithRefugees #Uganda #WomenInBusiness #LivelihoodSupport

After 14 years of war, millions of Syrians remain displaced - many still inside the country, unable to return to their destroyed homes. In many areas, access to basic services like healthcare is limited. At the Kalbit Health Center, supported by Malteser International and our partner Hand in Hand for Aid and Development, Dr. Majed Salloum reminds us: “Supporting the health sector is the heart of recovery. Every doctor who returns, every clinic that is rebuilt, is a step toward healing a nation.” Thanks to the funding from Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany, we continue to provide essential medical services in Syria. The fourth international “Ukraine Recovery Conference” in Rome is an important signal of support and solidarity, according to the Malteser Relief Service of Ukraine. Pavlo Titko, the Head of our partner Malteser Ukraine, is taking part in the conference. "Recovery is not only about reconstruction. It's about remembering that rebuilding a nation also means rebuilding its children. And they don't need charity – they need commitment,” he reminds us. Through our mental health and psychosocial support programs, including summer camps for war-affected children, we help them heal, grow, and just be kids again – even during conflict. ❤️🩹 🔗Read more in our latest press release: https://lnkd.in/eKtJP3JY 🔗 Support our work in Ukraine: https://lnkd.in/edX_R5UM #StandWithUkraine #MalteserUkraine #MalteserInternational #URC2025 #MentalHealthMatters

Malteser International hat dies direkt geteilt
The Order of Malta Lebanon together with our partner Malteser International, had the pleasure of welcoming the German Ambassador H.E. Kurt Georg Stoeckl-Stillfried, and his delegation, to three of our projects in the Akkar region, that are funded by Germany. From our Community Healthcare Center and our Mobile Medical Unit to our Agro-Humanitarian Center, the visit showcased how integrated healthcare and agricultural services are transforming lives—offering medical consultations, psychosocial support, and empowering farmers with training, tools, and resources for more sustainable livelihoods. Together, we continue to reach the most vulnerable with dignity and care.
