Yesterday, the first PPP infrastructure project "The completation of the #D4 #ViaSalis #highway" got the Ministry of Transport's prize in the national competition Transport Construction of the Year 2024, organized by Svaz podnikatelů ve stavebnictví. The award was handed-over to representatives of the #concessionaire Thomas Wegner Daniela Pedret Petr Andrýsek and of the #constructor Dalibor Cvach by the Minister of Transport Martin Kupka and the Vice-President of the House of Commons and former Minister of Transport #Karel #Havlicek . The award proves that the preparatory and #construction phase of the first #PPP project in the #Czech #Republic was successful, as is the #operational period, which celebrates its six-month anniversary in these days. The #award is a recognition of all those who worked on the project. Thank you! VINCI Highways #OpenTour on the #D4 highway ! As everywhere on #VINCI Highways, we have opened our doors to the public in the Czech Republic. This year we welcomed almost 400 children and young people from schools; kindergartens, primary, secondary and university. The main theme was #safety, the children could learn not only what the job of an operator is about, but also what police officers or firemen do on the highways. Thanks to the Via Salis Operations team, our colleagues from Via Salis and our partners UAMK, #FiremenZalužany, #Police (Policie České republiky) the children learned a lot of useful information and also had a great time. Via Salis participated in a very interesting conference Transport Infrastructure konference Dopravní infrastruktura, which took place on 13-14 May in amazing town of #Litomyšl. Our presentation on the use of the #BIM method on our project of the #D4 #highway completion in the form of a #PPP project complemented the information-rich programme. We are glad that we are not more only a #positive #reference, mentioned several times by the presentators (among others Martin Kupka, Jan Ornst or Martin Janeček) but that we could pass on concrete #experience from this first PPP project in the Czech Republic, that we #successfully realized. How are doing #WildMeadows along our #D4 #highway?   As you know several #sustainable #projects are linked to #D4, one of which is „wild meadows“, and aims to support #biodiversity along the D4 highway. Last year we sowed 400,000 m2 of a mixture enriched with herbs that supports living conditions for insects and butterflies. Last week we carried out monitoring of these wild meadows. Not all of the greenery is fully visible, but at least 40% of the green areas show that most of the sown plants have taken hold, which are important food plants for butterflies as well as being pretty to look at and will provide good habitat for the insect population. We can also look forward to the daisies which will soon be in bloom. We will continue monitoring regularly in collaboration with experts from Mendel University. The Wild Meadows project won two awards: the #VINCI #EnvironmentalAward for the Central and Eastern Europe region, and in the Sustainable Business Forum: ESG Reporting competition by the Francouzsko-česká obchodní komora finished FIRST in #Innovation category. 29.4.2025 exactly 4 years have passed since the financial closing of the first #PPP project in the Czech Republic, the completion of the #D4 highway. On this occasion, the concessionaire Via Salis invited representatives of the banks that financed this project to visit not only the new highway but also the operations centre, which is one of the most technologically advanced in the country. The banks were welcomed and guided through the new project by the management of both Via Salis and Via Salis Operations. The long awaited day has come 17.12.2024 D4, the country's first #PPP #project, is open to drivers. The ribbon was cut at 11:39 a.m. and the first drivers drove through the new highway a few minutes later. #Thanks to all the parties involved for making this a reality and that, thanks to great #cooperation, our project became a #PositiveRreference   We wish all drivers a great and safe experience on our #D4 #highway!
