Great to host Founder & Executive Director Noël Zihabamwe and the team from the African Australian Advocacy Centre(AAAC) at Sydney Airport this week. We had a great discussion about the opportunities to grow air connectivity between Africa and Sydney — and the social and economic benefits that come with it. With a growing African diaspora in Sydney, stronger aviation links mean more than just flights — they help connect families, grow trade and tourism, and strengthen our community. Excited to keep the conversation going!

✈️ Despite the rainy skies, excitement is soaring at #SydneyAirport! Qantas’ Airbus #A321XLR VH-OGA “Great Ocean Road” touched down this morning in Sydney, completing a record-breaking journey from Hamburg via Bangkok. This marks a major milestone in #Qantas’ fleet renewal, with the #A321XLR offering longer range, greater fuel efficiency, and a more spacious cabin experience. This arrival is the first of 28 ordered by Qantas and features the widest cabin of any narrow-body aircraft, with more seats, bigger windows, and space for 60% more bags than the Boeing 737. 📷 Qantas

We’re proud to support the newly opened Jacaranda Women’s Hub – a safe, welcoming space for local women and families facing adversity. Located in Pagewood and delivered by Bayside Women's Shelter in partnership with Bayside Council (NSW), the hub was made possible thanks to proceeds from Sydney Airport’s 2023 Lost Property Auction. The hub provides a wide range of services including specialist counselling and case management, financial and legal support, parenting programs, and community-building activities like art, playgroups and sewing. Bayside Women's Shelter GM, Sallianne Faulkner, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone at Sydney Airport for supporting the Bayside Women’s Shelter board and management’s vision to support local women and help build a stronger community.”
