  • 🌟 Spotlight on Global Mission United 🌟 Driven by the values of Connection, Community and Faith, Global Mission United is a Christian not-for-profit dedicated to supporting people in need with practical help and heartfelt care. Three times a week, their volunteers serve warm meals, drinks, and essential supplies to those doing it tough across Fremantle, Armadale and Perth city. From food hampers and sleeping bags to help with forms and referrals, their outreach goes beyond meals—offering dignity, hope, and human connection. We’re proud to support Global Mission United through regular food donations, with over 10,264kg of rescued food—the equivalent of 20,528 meals—shared so far this year 🍽️ Thank you to the incredible team making a real difference in the WA community, week in and week out.

  • We’re halfway there! ♻️💚 Thanks to your support, and help from our amazing volunteers like Miriam and Susi, we’re now more than halfway to our goal of raising funds from 300,000 recycled bottles and cans through the CDS Vic West Zone! Every 10c container donated helps SecondBite provide meals to families doing it tough. Just 10 containers = up to 5 nutritious meals. If you're in the CDS Vic West Zone, you can keep the impact going by choosing SecondBite as your donation partner when recycling at your local TOMRA Cleanaway refund point. Let’s hit that target by August 17, and turn even more cans into meals 🍽️ 📍 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gA5Mddkv

This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate 50 years of honouring and amplifying First Nations voices, culture, and achievements. The 2025 theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," shines a light on the emerging leaders shaping our future, guided by the vision of their communities and the enduring legacy of Elders and Ancestors. NAIDOC began as a grassroots movement for justice and equality. Today, it stands as a nationwide celebration of diverse cultures, histories and achievements of First Nations peoples. At SecondBite | FareShare, we’re proud to celebrate with First Nations peoples and communities during this milestone year and beyond. Through our Meals for the Mob program, we partner with Indigenous-led organisations to support community-driven food relief that respects culture, connection and legacy. This week, we honour not just a milestone, but a movement that continues to grow, evolve, and inspire across Australia. We remain committed to listening and learning as we walk alongside communities with respect, humility, and a shared commitment to a future shaped by the strength, vision, and legacy of the next generation of First Nations peoples.

On July 1, 2024, SecondBite and FareShare joined forces to tackle food insecurity head-on. One year later, the results speak for themselves: 🥣 30% more meals delivered to people doing it tough ♻️ 10% more food rescued from going to waste 🍽️ 2.5 million nutritious meals shared across Australia 🏭 1 million kilos of surplus food rescued from growers, manufacturers & retailers 🤝 Enhanced support for communities impacted by disasters and cost-of-living pressures By combining SecondBite’s national food rescue network with FareShare’s meal-cooking power, we’ve supercharged our impact — and we’re just getting started. Our CEO Daniel Moorfield says it best: “The merger has enabled us to go further and faster in delivering food relief where it’s needed most.” As demand grows, so does our commitment — to food justice, and to ensuring surplus food makes it way to people in need.
