My name is Josh Furnas
and I like challenges…
So! I bought a house and spent a few thousand hours and dollars destroying and rebuilding it. This was not a Sally lets slap paint on the wall job. I wanted to tear apart and build back up every inch because it needed it. Only problem was, I’d never done any of this, I’d never even cut a piece of drywall…
I had a few tools, and by tools I mean a handful of good friends I could ask difficulty quesitons, Google’s infinite knowledge, and plenty of skilled labor looking for work in this economy.
Over the course of 15 months I failed, I succeeded, failed again a few more times then got it right. I took an hour to do something a craftsman would do in 10 minutes…over and over, until I eventually closed the gap. Paid more just so workers would slow down and “let me do it”. It was all worth it in the end. My many hours led me to lifelong understandings of home remodeling and a love for artistic detail in architecture.
This is that Adventure.
