As someone interested in technology, what are the most impactful skills or experiences I should prioritize in college to prepare for a career that makes a difference in my community How can I balance building these skills with maintaining my personal well-being?

Hi, I’m a first-generation college student from a small town, studying computer science at a community college. Growing up, I saw how limited access to technology impacted my community, especially for small businesses and students. I’m passionate about using tech to create solutions that uplift underserved areas, but I’m unsure how to get started while juggling school and part-time work. I want to make a meaningful impact but also need guidance on managing stress and building a career path that aligns with my values.

What are ways to narrow down my career interest in Criminal Justice?

I'm a first generation college student and I am currently on my 3rd/last year at a community college. I am trying to create a plan to transfer to a university but I am not only having trouble choosing a specific major but my overall path. I have always had an interest in Criminal Justice but, frankly, I am just not exposed enough to the field. I wish to obtain a Masters education at the very least but I am researching endlessly with little results. If you are possibly able to discuss about other questions please search me on my LinkedIn account. Any guidance is appreciated, thank you. #criminology #criminaljustice #firstgenerationcollegestudent #seekingmentorship #careerinterest #highereducation

What makes a great nurse? what are good methods of studying?

I want to make a positive impact in the world by caring for others, saving lives, and helping others get closer to achieving their goals in life.I am the first in my family to attend college. I am also the oldest of 3, I push myself to be great example for my brothers. Ive been working in a nursing home since I was 16 years old as a certified nursing assistant. Caring for others is something that comes natural to me. I grew up watching my grandmother being cared for when I was a child due to her being shot in the spine and becoming paralyzed from her C7 and down. My little brother was also born with wolf parkinson white (wpw) which is a heart disorder. With either being in the hospital because of my brother and watching my grandmother being cared for motivated me to be someone to help others. I want to be able to save lives one day I want to be the best nurse I can be. I can achieve my goals by attending college with 100% motivation to succeed. Once I become a nurse I want to work in the hospital either in the surgery room, ICU, or Emergency room. working full-time at a nursing home and a full-time student is thought but knowing what an impact I will make in the future pushes me to strive to be the best. What makes a great nurse? I am also diagnosed with ADHD so I have a hard time concentrating and stay focused. what are good methods for studying? #futurenurse #lifesaver #registered-nurses #caring #diligent #firstgenerationcollegestudent #rolemodel #nursing #medicine
