It's all about people!

It's all about people!

This is my first article on Linkedin.

Writing on Linkedin has been on my to-do list for a long time ago – many, many years, to be exact. I never jumped in before because I thought that to have something to share, it had to be perfect, but then Covid-19 happened and changed our world in so many ways! I decided, after all, that this was the now or never moment to start writing.

For this first time, I wanted to talk about something that I am passionate about, and we can say I have 3 main passions in my professional life: People, Innovation and Sustainability. I’ll start to share my personal thoughts on the most important one, without whom you’ll never have the 2 others: I’m writing today about People.

I love to support people’s growth; this is where I take my energy at work, by seeing stars in the eyes of those people who have learned something new and realize it, and to know that I have helped them in getting that knowledge.

I believe most people are willing to learn and to become better persons; we have around us many brilliant talents that can bring a lot to our company, to our society and to our lives.

It is very important to support them and to try to always bring the best on each other by sharing, connecting and inspiring them with examples of people, stories, tools, methods and adventures that happened imperfectly, to show that done is better than perfect, and that they have the right to dare. Anyone can make this world better by building new solutions and new ideas. Creativity really is for everyone.

I am a strong believer that innovation is the consequence of how well you help your people to grow and to become better; Innovation is the result you get, not the goal in itself. It is the journey and to go through this journey, you need people. This is why I spend most of my time trying to inspire people to act, by showing them internal and external examples of brilliant talents that achieved something great or that failed – Learn from experiences is important in order avoid making the same mistakes.

Almost every week, I send the “Inspiration of the Week” newsletter to my personal network; in it, I share my learnings and content that inspired me to grow that week. I push my teams and everyone I have the opportunity to push, to learn new things via conferences, webinars, moocs, etc…

Most people are willing to learn and to become better persons, and it is very important to support them and to try to always bring the best on each other’s by sharing, connecting and inspiring them. Of course, you cannot convince everyone or take anyone with you, even if I would love it, but I have a network that I try to maintain and inspire to act, and based on the numerous feedbacks I receive, I’m confident that I am somehow helping them to grow. So the more we have people trained, skilled, involved and inspired, the more we have ideas that can be turned into real added value innovations.

I am strong believer that we can’t succeed if the world is not sustainable: we cannot live without Nature and, without a sustainable world, we cannot thrive. We have a chance now to change things and to make this world a better place for us, for our children and for future generations that will have to handle with the consequences of centuries of damage.

So I’m applying this growth necessity to myself, because to inspire others we have to be inspired; to teach skills and train people, we have to be trained and skilled, so I’m learning, connecting, and discovering as much as possible on the field of sustainability. And I’m falling more and more in love with this topic and feeling a sense of urgency to embark the biggest amount of people possible in this adventure.

And what I’m very interested about is how I can take people to the next level by combining Innovation and Sustainability to create a better place for us to work and to live.

In the next article I will be explaining my point of view on how “Networking is Everything.”

I hope you liked it, remember that Feedback is a gift, and I am taking it all :)

Stay safe! Danielle

PS: Please note that those thoughts are striclty personal and shared on a personal basis.

Excelente artigo Dani!
