Looking for your Next Career Step? The algorithm might be your secret weapon.

Most job seekers focus on their CV and forget the power of visibility. But here’s what our research shows: 70% of recruiter searches start on LinkedIn™—and whether you show up depends on how well you work with the algorithm.

Here are 3 tips to get in front of the right people:

  1. Consistency wins search Profiles that show weekly activity (likes, comments, or posts) rank 3x higher in recruiter searches than dormant ones.
  2. Content beats credentials Sharing 1–2 posts per month around your industry, skills, or career journey increases profile views by 42%. Visibility > invisibility.
  3. Your banner, headline, and “About” section are weighted These are scanned for keyword relevance—just like a website. Use the job titles and skills you’re targeting in all three areas.

LinkedIn™ rewards relevant and active job seekers. This isn’t just about standing out—it’s about showing up where recruiters are actually looking. And this chapter gives you the full roadmap.

Social Selling in 2025: No More Spray-and-Pray

LinkedIn™ isn’t a cold call machine. It’s a trust platform. That’s why the best-performing sellers are those who adapt their outreach to work with the algorithm—and the human on the other side. Here’s what the data tells us:

  1. Personalised invites convert 4x better Generic “I’d like to add you…” messages? 16% acceptance rate. Add a custom line that references their content, company, or common ground? That jumps to 65–70%.
  2. Comment before you connect Engaging with someone’s post before sending a request increases acceptance by 32%—and puts your name in their notification stream first.
  3. Timing matters Connection requests sent within 30 minutes of post engagement (like/comment) have the highest conversion rates. It’s all about being visible when they’re active.
  4. Don’t pitch in the first message InMail pitches get ignored. But when sellers wait until message 3 or 4—after trust is built—reply rates triple.
  5. Be visible before you reach out Posting regularly (even 2x/month) increases trust. Sellers who are active on LinkedIn™ see 2.5x better conversion in their DMs.

Visual insight: The chart shows that warm connection requests—those based on prior interaction—outperform cold requests by more than 3x in acceptance and 5x in response rate.

Social Selling isn’t about chasing. It’s about attracting, connecting, and then converting—on the buyer’s terms. Chapter 6 walks you through every step.

6 Tips for Using Different Formats on Your LinkedIn Company Page

  • Prioritize Image Posts: Make image-based posts your primary format, as they now represent 65.71% of all company content and offer the best effort-to-reach ratio. For maximum visibility, always include compelling visuals—if there’s no media, there’s little reach1.
  • Leverage LinkedIn Video: Videos are on the rise, now accounting for 16.49% of page content. Repurpose content from YouTube or internal campaigns and take advantage of LinkedIn’s improved video support to boost engagement beyond what text or link posts can achieve1.
  • Share Documents for Authority: Documents like pitch decks and whitepapers have grown to 9.31% of posts and are excellent for building trust and demonstrating thought leadership. Recycle high-value content from other platforms to keep your page authoritative and resourceful1.
  • Avoid Text-Only Posts: Pure text updates have dropped sharply and now make up just 3.52% of content. Without images, videos, or carousels, these posts are deprioritized by the algorithm and often ignored by audiences1.
  • Drop Polls from Your Strategy: Polls now represent only 0.84% of content, with declining engagement and effectiveness. Most brands are removing polls from their content plans as audiences increasingly overlook them1.
  • Stick to Native Formats: LinkedIn’s algorithm rewards native content. Avoid external links, event pages, or reposts, which have seen a 24% decline and now make up only 4.13% of posts. Focus on formats designed for LinkedIn to maximize your reach and impact.

When your “final chapter” arrives and it’s not a blockbuster ending but more like a surprise to be continued… 🎬😅 Richard van der Blom this resonates so much. Life—and business—rarely wraps up in neat edits. What lands in the final chapter often sets the tone for the next volume. In the Law of Attraction, closure isn’t an endpoint—it’s a pause before the universe cues the next act. When we honor the ending—and hold space for the next—it’s like turning the page with intention, not accident. Cheers to your next chapter loading… and may it be full of clarity, momentum, and purpose! 🙌✨
